About this listen

When you are a young adult in the Etheric Empire, your life can be changed in mere moments - often for the better.

Anne was saved by the queen herself many years before on planet Earth. Now, she is struggling with focus and coming into adulthood while her mom struggles with her own future.

When Anne’s mother makes an ultimatum, the empress steps in, and Anne’s life is saved by her young friend with four paws.

Now, Anne must grow up with her partner, Jinx, and fast. Her new friends are going to need her in the future. Together, the young woman and her partner, Jinx, have a future to affect.

Set on the foundation laid by the Kurtherian Gambit series, this story is about one of the fan favorites and her new partner. Together, they just may be instrumental in changing the future of technology and life.

Loved it

We first met Anne in the one Kurtherian Gambit books - she wrote a letter to Bethany Anne asking for her help because her mum had been kidnapped.

A few years later, the family are living on board, Mum's not very nice to Anne, who is constantly tired and feels sick.

Jinx is one of Ashur and Bellatrix's puppies and hasn't found her human yet. But she smells out Anne, whom Ashur remembers from when her and her family were rescued a few years ago.

The dogs turn up on Anne's door, her mum goes nuts as she can't understand them (she refused to get the chip upgrade). She throws a hissy fit and kicks Jinx. BA intervenes and gets Anne emancipated and sets her up with Tabitha (never Tabby with a Y or Tabbi with an I, but Tabitha), Ranger Two.

Things start getting better for Anne, she has obstacles to overcome (shopping, illness, school bullies), but she gets through them all whilst trying to understand and come to terms with her new abilities.

Great book with fantastic narration - I've never listened to this narrator before, but she's very good and I really enjoyed listening to her.
