Summary
The next installment in the Eagle Elite romance series from New York Times best-selling author Rachel Van Dyken.
He is a killer, a rapist, a monster and knows only pain and survival. That is until the capo's sister walks into his life and changes everything. She's a light who makes his darkness darker; her smile makes his heart turn to ice, and he can't escape the fear her seductive looks instill - knowing it's only a matter of time before he fails again and takes her for himself.
This is the story of his redemption. But it's not pretty, because he died and came to life again - breathing but not surviving. He is Phoenix De Lange, son of a murdered mob boss, estranged brother, horrible friend, monster in the making, newest leader of one of the most powerful families in the Cosa Nostra. And he will have his vengeance - or die trying. Death is all he knows - until she offers him a piece of life Phoenix can't resist taking.

I am well and truly hooked
Holy moly guacamole, this series just keeps getting better and better. When I look back at the first book compared to this book (book 5), I can't believe how far this motley crew of mafia bosses have come. I adore them all, every single last one, yes even Phoenix, but I have to say I have very very mixed feelings about Phoenix, considering his past. Because of my love and forgiveness for Phoenix I am actually questioning my own sanity, and the sanity of Bee considering Phoenix's past, how us it possible to love someone who has done such dreadful atrocities? That said I loved this book and I loved Phoenix and Bee, she was the perfect character inside and out for Phoenix. The writing and the story, are again, perfect, as with previous books in the series I had no clue who to trust, I, like most of the Elite was in the dark, never knowing who would be shot next and what curve ball Rachel Van Dyken was going to throw into the mix. I am well and truly hooked.
The narrator's are perfect. Love them.
