Summary
The power of the element bonds flows through the lands of Terndahl. Shapers can control that power and use it.
With the threat of rogue elementals escaping from the element bond and fear of another attack by the Draasin Lord, life at the edge of Terndahl is difficult for Tolan. Without any magic of his own, he spends his days working a menial job as a carpenter’s apprentice. When an elemental attack draws the attention of the Inquisitors from the Academy, everything changes.
A mistake brings Tolan into the Terenhall Academy, a prestigious training ground for powerful shapers, but it’s a world where he doesn’t belong. Unlike his classmates, he can’t control the magic of the element bonds.
With no shaping ability, Tolan must find the fire within himself to succeed. If he can't, he'll not only be forced to leave the Academy, but the dangerous Draasin Lord might gain the very power he's long sought.
This box set contains the first three books of the best-selling Elemental Academy series:
- The Fire Within
- The Earth Awakens
- The Water Ruptures

it's okay
it's a decent story but be ready to HATE the side characters.
im in the the 1st 2 books and so far its just a guy trying his best to start to find himself while his friends constantly question his sanity and moan constantly about everything he does.....if he so much as blinks one of his friends (the female one) will call his name or give him some kind of look like I would absolutely hate to have friends like that ...they are supportive but it's like they support him being shit and that's it ......any growth or differences he notices are just figments of his imagination. its really really annoying

Decent if a bit repetitive
Totally agree with some other reviews around the repetition of words shape, bondar, furious, drazen lord. Not sure what the writer could do to incorporate these less since I recognise shape and bondar are main components of the story. MC is... Frustrating at times I felt drawn in almost on precipice of going 'yes he's got it' you know that sense you get when there's a big build up to something ... but third book in he still don't got it haha and it was a build up with no real crescendo. I still enjoyed it though, and felt for one credit for three good books was value for money... Hoping 4th book will be when Tollan has some major epiphanies and I'll finally feel gratified for having stuck with it bc I still enjoyed the general storyline.

very hard to follow
honestly the story I'm unsure how to feel about but it just seems to be all over the place and the characters also seem to be all over the place like they are having an identity crisis they are brave one second and they cowering the next or sure of there power and then not sure how to use it and that not including spirit which seems to be simply a form mind control/ mind reading which no one understands everyone wants and those that can use don't seem use properly on the MC because reasons. it honestly just seems like someone cherry picked events from harry potter change them slightly slap it together and was like I can make a story out of it.
it's a extremely disappointing as most of the authors work is really good but it's so hard to follow or relate to the characters as it just feels unfinished like there was content written to explain this but was just cut now it doesn't make sense

Good concept, but very repeatative
I really enjoyed the concept of the elementals but felt the story was very reparative with the characters being a little Whiney for my liking.
