Summary
How does a kid called Tom Holland, who never had a speaking part in a school play, find himself playing Marvel's Peter Parker?
A series of happy coincidences and serendipitous events is the answer. A fluke, then? Yes, but not exactly, given that huge amounts of commitment and hard work have been required. Eclipsed is the unlikely but true story of an ordinary family, muddling through life without much of a plan and dealing with circumstances that confound normal expectations. Written by a dad who as a professional comedian took his own shot at show-biz stardom and called Eclipsed because his carefully honed plans didn't work out so well.
Written with great affection and endearing pride, Eclipsed is as funny and entertaining as it is interesting. A parenting guide like no other. A behind-the-scenes insight in to show-biz and a moral tale about effort, hope and the value of being determined to just keep on keeping on.
Listeners across the world have loved Eclipsed. Get on board today with this most heartwarming, endearing tale of family life and one with the happiest ending ever.

Incredible story!
This is one of those books where, if it wasn't a true story, you would have difficulty believing it.
It's lovely to hear the story from the point of view of a proud parent, watching it all unfold and wondering how, but at the same time explaining just how much work has been undertaken by Tom, and the support of the family around him to enable it to happen. It could be cloying and sycophantic to hear a parent talking about their offspring's achievements for 10 hours, but Dominic's comparisons to his own career and comedic wit make it funny, heart warming and a really easy listen.
The book is narrated by Dominic himself, with occasional chats with Tom at the end of chapters to provide another perspective on the same story, or to reflect on again after a number of years have passed.
A great listen.

A beautiful story told by a proud father
Having loved the first edition of Eclipsed, I was excited to hear this story again through the audiobook medium. I was blown away by how much I enjoyed it!
Dom's performance as narrator is strong and engaging throughout. I always looked forward to listening to it on my daily walks.
The story itself is heartfelt, exciting and full of love! The talks with Tom after certain chapters were insightful and fun to listen to.
I highly recommend this audiobook to parents and to anyone who is curious to know more about Tom's story.

Triumph
How I have missed having Dominic Holland’s voice in my ears and dry humour dancing with my brain.
I bought the book for my brother last year.
Spotted the audio was up just as a credit came in, how serendipitous.
The unexpected father / son chats added an extra familial dimension and reminds us we’re all human.
Will be looking out for more of his work. Now off to google urban arts.

Brilliant Book! So entertaining!
I absolutely loved this book. Well read by Dominic Holland. Recounting on so many unbelievable memories/moments/experiences. Filled with so many emotions and had me in stitches of laughter. I also loved the chats between father and son (Tom Holland) at the end of each chapter.
A real feel good book. I highly recommend this book to all.

A very easy and enjoyable listen!
Very enjoyable audio book with an easy to listen to tone and cadence. Really enjoyed listening to Dominic's recollection of his experiences as well as the conversations with Tom dotted through the book which provides a nice scene change before returning to another chapter. A job well done Dominic!

What an achievement, a true success story
This book is honest, informative, witty with real lol moments. But above all I love the love, bond and respect between father and son. This is what I refer to as 'an achievement, a true success'. Being a parent is th most important job in the world, and it's clear the success you've had at it.
can't wait for the film 😜

A different kind of memoir, very funny
Honest, reflective, self-deprecating, funny and occasionally moving. As a dad myself I related to how proud he is of his 4 sons and how supportive he is of their achievements. The audiobook contains lots of short conversations between him and Tom, which were a real treat. Thankfully, Tom comes across as a lovely bloke and someone who thinks a lot of his dad. As a big Marvel fan that was quite a relief!
