Summary
Step into the mysterious world of weird Florida, where surprises and spirits are as common as sun and sand….
Amelia Matthews never anticipated inheriting a hotel in in a small southern town, but life's twists and turns have led her to the Sunshine State. Under the hotel's quirky, rundown façade lie haunting secrets—an unsolved murder and a restless spirit who keeps turning off the air conditioner. In the summer. In Florida.

Her companions on this eerie journey include the sassy feline Freddie Purrcury, the overly enthusiastic and hilarious Liz with her New Age bookstore, and the charmingly handsome local historian, Oliver.
Then Amelia discovers her hidden psychic abilities. As spooky happenings escalate, she can't help but wish for a few minutes of peace. And maybe a margarita.
She faces a decision: sell the inn, and run, or embrace her new destiny as a paranormal sleuth. In this spine-tingling cozy mystery, Amelia Matthews unravels the secrets of the inn's haunted past while navigating psychic powers, an ornery cat, and a quirky crew of new friends. If she doesn’t solve the mystery, she just might become the inn's next ghostly inhabitant….

Great series starter!
Eat, Pray, Hex is a fun story with a mystery that kept me guessing until the end. Amelia is a fun, relatable character and the Florida setting was perfect 👌 I'm looking forward to seeing how Amelia and Oliver's relationship develops.
The narrator went a bit hard with Jimbo and Sage's accents, but overall she did a great job of voicing the characters.
I can't wait to see what happens next at the Crescent Moon Hotel!

Oh so good
I really enjoyed this book. It was more grown up compared to other books based around a divorced middle aged woman who inherits a house (or in the case an inn) and discover she has powers, of which there is a lot. Actually I think it is one of the better ones I have listened too. I like the mix of characters who all being a little something to the story from the cowgirl witch and her funny spells, to the studious professor providing a love interest. All are a delight and unique. There are also lots of little twist in the town too, like recipes on gravestones to give it charm and make it a place that you would like to visit. The mystery was slow to start with, this being the first in the series and gives the author a nice backstory to build her series around but I actually didn't mind because I got swept up in the story. I can't wait for the next book.
Amelia plans to sell the inn her aunt left her but when she arrives it's not quite what she is expecting. The place is run down and with no guests it's not going to be the quick sell she hoped for. Her brother got the beach property but her aunt left the inn to her for a reason. Amelia is the only one who can turn things around and her aunt has left her clues and contact to help. You see Amelia had been there once before and things didn't go so well, Amelia has a gift that her aunt recognised on that day and knows she is the only one who can stop the haunting and save the inn. But will Amelia stay and try?
I liked the narrator. She used different voices to bring the characters to life, even the ghosts.
