Summary

The third book in the Ivy Creek cozy mystery series.

It seems Lucy has finally gotten the hang of running a bakery and serving the good citizens of Ivy Creek. She knows she has a lot to learn, but she’s up for the challenge. She just never bargained for competition from a new couple in town.

When one half of this dubious couple is found dead, Lucy is torn between minding her own business and helping the grieving person find justice for their loss. Matters aren’t helped when it appears all circumstantial and testimonial evidence points to this person as the killer. But Lucy knows what it’s like to be falsely accused in the court of public opinion.

Will she unearth the secrets that surround a building in town that seems linked to the murder? Will she find out why the accused has so much to hide even though they’ve professed their innocence? Will she help to find a killer who doesn’t want to be found and restore normalcy to her life and small town?

Book three in the Ivy Creek Cozy Mystery series! Perfect to be enjoyed at lunchtime. If you want to enjoy a quick, lighthearted story with an amateur female sleuth, mouthwatering culinary desserts, and a gripping murder mystery, then you'll love Lucy Hale and all the quirky characters in Ivy Creek.

A good cozy mystery

A good cozy mystery, the third in the series but can be listened to as a standalone. Lucy runs a bakery in Ivy Creek, when a rival baker is murdered shortly after opening a shop across the road she gets involved in the investigation. The story is excellent, light, with a slightly stressed main character, a little romance and a little humour. I did find the motive a bit obscure but overall a light fun quite short listen. Samantha Golden does a fine job with the narration, easy to listen to although her characters accents slip every now and then. I received a complimentary copy from Clean Tales and am leaving a voluntary honest review
