About this listen
The legend dates back to Roman times, at least: a great White Worm, as wide as a man, slithers out of the rocks of the Dark Peak Gap to take animals, sometimes even children, for its food.
When the Doctor and Leela arrive in the wilds of Derbyshire only to get caught up in the hunt for a missing girl, they soon discover that the legend of the Worm is very much alive - even now, in 1979. Worse still, it seems that the Doctor isn't the only renegade Time Lord on the trail of this deadly and mysterious Worm....
NOTE: The adventure continues in Doctor Who: The Oseidon Adventure.
Written by Alan Barnes and directed by Ken Bentley.

A (new) Classic 4th Doctor story
A real (virtual) page turner. The supporting characters are great and make you want to learn more about them.
I also enjoyed how it's set in the 1970's, as it adds to the feeling of it being part of the classic Who legacy.
Finally, I felt adding in the master was a stroke of genius, as I always felt it a shame that there wasn't a real chance for the 4th Doctor to show off his classic banter against the master's. A well woven tale that fits in perfectly within the history of Tom's doctor.
