About this listen
Somebody’s interfering with time. The Doctor, Rose and Captain Jack arrive on modern-day Earth to find the culprit - and discover a Neanderthal Man, twenty-eight thousand years after his race became extinct. Only a trip back to the primeval dawn of humanity can solve the mystery. Who are the mysterious humans from the distant future now living in the distant past? What hideous monsters are trying to escape from behind the Grey Door? Is Rose going to end up married to a caveman?
Caught between three very different types of human being - past, present and future - the Doctor, Rose and Captain Jack must learn the truth behind the Osterberg experiment before the monstrous Hy-Bractors escape to change humanity’s history forever...

Great story and voice talent.
Very thought provoking and fun story by the brilliant Gareth Roberts. Anthony head's vocal renditions of the doctor, Jack and Rose is superb, as is the subplot neanderthal in Bromley diaries. Highly recommended.

ONLY HUMAN...LOVED THIS!!
Where does Doctor Who: Only Human rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Dr. Who as always ranks right up there near the top. To date I have not been disappointed by Dr. Who.
What other book might you compare Doctor Who: Only Human to, and why?
Any time travel book, that is the beauty. No matter how many you read, it is Dr. Who, so it has it's own special quality of humor.
What does Anthony Head bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Anthony Head is brilliant. He is the reason I chose this book in the first, he is a favorite of mine.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Y es, and I did so. Since I am listening I can do other things at the same time and do not have to stop listening if I am enjoying the book.
Any additional comments?
Dr. Who read by Anthony Head, two of my favorites! This is s listen that should not be missed, the fresh view of evetyday things that we see through the eyes of someone experiencing them for the first time....is always enjoyable. And I laughed often over this aspect of the story.

A Lost Doctor
The story is a good one with monsters that have a good rationale behind them (and who really is the 'monster' here. The Doctor and Rose head back to the time of early man (shades of An Unearthly Child), but with a futuristic research base also present. Sadly Captain Jack is sidelined into his own adventure that makes him feel more like an afterthought than a part of the story.
Anthony Head nails all of the main cast brilliantly, in particular sounding like Ecclestone's short-lived ninth incarnation. In addition all of the other main characters sound different from one another, though the eccentric Quilley does sound too much like Simon Callow.
Well worth the listen to
