Summary

Toby Clement's third epic historical audiobook set during England's bloody and brutal War of the Roses. If you liked Conn Iggulden's Stormbird, you will love Toby Clements' Kingmaker novels.

Lent, 1469. The recent wars between the House of York and the House of Lancaster seem over. The Yorkist King Edward sits on his throne in Westminster while the Lancastrian claimants are in exile or under lock and key in the Tower. But within the family of York, there is discord.

The Earl of Warwick conspires against his king, and while to one another's faces they are all smiles, their household men speak in lies and whispers. No man comes to court unarmed. Thomas and Katherine have returned to Marton Hall, the only home they know.

But what lies buried in the past cannot remain so for long, and soon they are forced to take up arms once more in one of the most savage wars in history. The War of the Roses....

Absolutely love it!!

All four books are amazing, love the characters, the story lines, the humorous little lines and could listen to Jacks voice all day long. I get so engrossed in the books and Toby has a knack of drawing in you right in as if you were there

very enjoyable listen

I have listened to all three books in quick succession. I like the mix of battle and surgery and the famous movers and shakers turning up in apparently ordinary lives. However, we have known who Catherine actually is since book one so not revealing the secret to the characters until book 4 is a cliff hanger too far .....

Excellent series

If you could sum up Divided Souls in three words, what would they be?

Captivating, Attention-holding, Interesting

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kit/Katherine. She has such depth of character and presence

What does Jack Hawkins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Excellent narration which brings the characters to life

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and no. I wanted to continue listening but didn't want it to end.

Any additional comments?

I don't normally write reviews but I have so enjoyed this series I felt I had to comment. It is excellently written and makes you feel like you know the characters well. An interesting period in history which has been brought to life in these books. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Outstanding

As with the previous books in this series, this was an engrossing book which I found hard to put down.

The journey of Thomas and Catherine cannot, surely, be over? Although I like happy endings, I felt that there should be another book to follow on. Hopefully, there will be in the not too distant future.

As always, narration was perfect for this book.

Enjoyable

My son introduced me to this author , and as I like this period in history I have thoroughly enjoyed the books I have heard so far . The descriptions of the area and characters , are excellent as well as the way he treats his protagonists. Can’t wait to start the next one .

Another fabulous addition to the series

Just as good as the others. Rich language, twisted plot, gripping action and wonderful characters.
