About this listen
Sometimes you have to be locked up to find true freedom. David Mike swore allegiance to his country in 1987, only to be dishonorably discharged for desertion. One bad choice after another landed him at Fort Leavenworth, a notorious military prison in Kansas, where he starts a new life as an inmate.
Follow his journey as he claws his way toward Christ and away from the past that yearns to destroy him. Dishonor: One Soldier’s Journey from Desertion to Redemption is a vulnerable and compelling look at a life gone wrong.
With stark honesty, David gives insights into prison life and the shame that comes with living a dishonorable life. Through his raw, gritty, personal account, he pleads for you to find the same redemption he found in his life.

What a rollercoaster of a testimony & what a read!
Wow. What a story. A stark reminder of how, in a split second, Sliding Doors style, one seemingly innocuous decision can change the course of your whole life and set you on a path of destruction. But joyfully, it is also a reminder that no one is beyond redemption and God's love. This book is brilliant in so many ways - a macabre glimpse into the sordid world of the drug trade and dependence (particularly fascinating to someone who has never had any desire to puff on a cigarette, let alone anything else), descriptive insight into life behind bars (if it isn't enough to put you off illegal activity, I don't know what will!), and the heartwarming journey of a man timidly seeking God and finding him in so many ways and working through so many people. David's honesty and determination to share every aspect of his journey - the good, the bad and the ugly - is admirable, inspiring and encouraging. What a rollercoaster of a testimony and what a read! I thank God for you, David, and for those who showed His love to you before you knew Him.

Brutally honest and beautifully vulnerable
I have heard of David Mike on social media but did not know his whole story and what a beautiful and brutal story it was. The brokenness and redemption woven throughout his words recalling one of the most destructive periods of his life reminded me of how God is able to work with and through whatever we bring if we but turn and return to God’s love. What a gift of a story for anyone feeling beyond redemption and too far gone from God’s love. David Mike gives a brutally honest and beautifully vulnerable story of what is possible with God even when you believe you are far from God and the support and care of others believing in the image good and redeemable in another whom God is calling us to love. Such a gift for those who need to hear it. Thank you for sharing your story.

brutally honest story ending in redemption!
Wow, the level of depravity is frightening. The awesome power of God is dazzling. This is a brutally honest story of the sad truth about the drug trade in the United States and how weak our cultural systems are at dealing with this debilitating yet thriving market. Thank you David Mike for sharing your whole story: good, bad , and mostly ugly. The glorious power of of God's love is breathtaking... ad God loves each of you that are reading this as much as He loves David Mike. Open your heart and let Him in, and you will experience love, peace, and acceptance like you never have before.
