About this listen
If I'm as straight as I always thought, why does kissing my best friend feel so right?
Zach has been my ride-or-die since we were nine. Business partners, roommates, best friends... we do everything together. But the last thing either of us expected was to be staring 40 in the face just as single as we both were when we made a silly, drunken marriage pact 20 years ago.
The problem?
Zach is gay...and, well, I’m not.
Under pressure from family, that pact comes rushing back, and I lock us into a fake engagement. But is it possible some part of me wants it to be real?
Convincing Zach I’m legit is another story. With each passing day, I wonder if my feelings of affection for my best friend can morph into the love I desperately want in my life. Something in Zach’s eyes tells me we can have it all if we just try.
It may have taken me a lifetime to see Zach with new eyes, but with every touch and discovery, it’s been worth the wait. On the edge of Dirty Forty, it’s time to go for it.
All I have to do is convince Zach it’s real.
Dirty Forty is a best-friends-to-lovers, marriage pact, demi/bisexual awakening featuring 30 years of pining, a fake engagement, curious kisses, and two guys finally embracing what’s always been in front of them.

Forty and still kicking
Story: Two men approaching forty and a marriage pact from the past that comes to life. I loved the feelings that bloomed between Zach and Dominic and the slow exploration of their attraction! The story is hot and fun, but also thougthfully written and very mature in approach to the emotions! It was a great read!
Narration: A great voice and very good performance!

Super friends to lover's story
A brand new author to me but wasn't disappointed. Loved the story between Zack and Dominic. Tim Paige and Liam DiCosimo are just the perfect pair to have brought it all to life.

Fun best friend to lovers story
Absolutely loved the book . Zach and Dominic have been friends since they were nine years old. Zach being in love with Dominic, but Dominic being straight. On their twentieth birthday they decide to get married when their forty if they have not found anyone.
Going from friends to lovers is easy for Dominic but harder for Zach , but very well written.
The narration is brilliant , bringing the emotion and love through.

Forced M/M fan fiction rather than a novel.
The acting was superb. My problem was the writing in every sense. The characters aren't developed, for they keep switching personalities over and over, and they're supposed to be 40 but talk and act as if they're 15-20 years old.
The story started great and funny, and it suddenly switched to tedious. It was like listening to a Wikipedia essay on how to be gay and every single politically correct term there is, instead of a love story between two friends realizing they love each other.
The story is forced and convenient. It feels uncomfortable to see how they keep seeing other people just because the plot needs it, there's no falling in love, is more like a forced "oh so out of nowhere I fell for you, and since you're gay and I'm hot, I'm not even going to ask if my best friend loves me cuz its a must and convenient." not good.
Also, you can tell even the writer thinks her characters are dumb for they keep saying... "I can't believe we are doing this, this is so stupid." I mean... If you need to make your characters say they think what their doing is stupid for 10 times... Then don't make them that stupid.
