Summary
Brought to you by Puffin.
Puffin presents five classic children's stories from master storyteller Dick King-Smith.
This collection features tales from the farm yard including Julius Caesar's Goat.
Julius Caesar's Goat is the story of how Julius Caesar became the owner of a goat so smelly, the enemy ran away at the merest whiff of him! And then there's Caesar's girlfriend... Queen Cleopatra may be beautiful but she uses Siberian wolf's wee for perfume and rancid donkey milk for bathwater. How can Caesar stand to be near this pungent pair?
The other stories included in this collection are The Rats of Meadowsweet Farm, Cuckoo Bush Farm and Farmer Bungle Forgets.

More Fantastic Tales!
Andrew Horton has narrated an earlier collection of Dick King-Smith's books, and he does so again here, with the same level of charm and vocal range in his performance as before. It helps especially that he has a grand set of stories to read from here, most of which are all based on farmyard settings (hence the title).
Personal favourites for me are 'The Rats of Meadowsweet Farm' (which feels rather Roald Dahl-ish in terms of "farmyard muck" and vengeance) and 'Julius Ceasar's Goat' (a very clever, very witty reimagining of Ceasar's life as Emperor, thanks to his pet goat!). Again, a wonderful selection for listeners of all ages to enjoy =)

My Review
I liked the story Julius Caesar’s goat but the other story’s were a bit too predictable.
