About this listen
Decision Points is the extraordinary memoir of America’s 43rd president. Shattering the conventions of political autobiography, George W. Bush offers a strikingly candid journey through the defining decisions of his life. In gripping, never-before-heard detail, President Bush brings readers inside the Texas Governor’s Mansion on the night of the hotly contested 2000 election; aboard Air Force One on 9/11, in the hours after America’s most devastating attack since Pearl Harbour; at the head of the table in the Situation Room in the moments before launching the war in Iraq; and behind the Oval Office desk for his historic and controversial decisions on the financial crisis, Hurricane Katrina, Afghanistan, Iran, and other issues that have shaped the first decade of the 21st century.
President Bush writes honestly and directly about his flaws and mistakes, as well as his accomplishments reforming education, treating HIV/AIDS in Africa, and safeguarding the country amid chilling warnings of additional terrorist attacks. He also offers intimate new details on his decision to quit drinking, discovery of faith, and relationship with his family.
A groundbreaking new brand of memoir, Decision Points will captivate supporters, surprise critics, and change perspectives on one of the most consequential eras in American history - and the man at the centre of events.

honest book from a honest and decisive President
insightful book on a wartime president who had to face an unprecedented amount of crises, from 911 in 2001 to the financial crash in 2008. Yet, he remained true to his values to defend America at home and abroad and didn't bend under pressure by the politics in Washington DC

Really enjoyable listen
Interesting take for a political memoir. Really enjoyed it and would recommend for a well considered appraisal of some fundamental decisions at a significant time in American history.

The untold story of Bush
This book really impacted me considerably. I went through my 20s in the bush era and was influenced by the media considerably. Its genuinely a freeing thing to hear the other side of the true. Love your faith George!

An interesting book
Would you consider the audio edition of Decision Points to be better than the print version?
Having George Bush read the book does bring it more to life and puts more of his stamp on the book. I find the audio books great for travelling when you are unable to read or simply wanting to switch off and listen to something.
Any additional comments?
For anyone interested in Politics, this is a fascinating account of some of the key decisions which George W Bush took and how he made them. Whether you are a fan or not, it is still definitely worth listening to.

Not such a jerk
I found this audio book to be very interesting, like many others I had been lead to believe President GW Bush was a bit of a jerk, not very good with words, not very bright etc. this book has made me rethink my opinion of him, he made his decision's and stuck to them unlike many others, he believes he did the right things at the right time. Many will debate his actions for years to come but I myself have changed my mind about him. He cares deeply for his country, is proud of his country and let's face it would anybody have been ready to deal with what 9/11 threw at him.

Enlightening
As a U.K. Citizen I've always found myself more interested in US politics than that of the UK. During President Bush's administration, his goverment endured a perfect storm of terrorism, war and financial collapse. It was enlightening to hear the behind the scenes descriptions of why The Presidents arrived at the decisions that he did . No one can imagine the weight of responsibility the attacks on the World Trade Centre and this book has improved my respect and admiration for the man who had to make extraordinary decisions in extraordinary times. Recommended.

Listening from the left of centre
A chance to cut through some guff, Bush does well to handle a difficult Presidency and ferocious critics with a level of dignity, self-clarity and reflectiveness. A chance to approach a much vilified guy from a different angle, at least for a while.

Very interesting but lacking variety
Has some really interesting and detailed insight into some events, the wars and various crisis mostly. But Bush says in his epilogue, he missed out many events by focusing on decision. So the book can lack some holistic themes that regular readers of biographies may be use to.
