Summary
Follow the law, or follow their hearts?
By-the-book Bo Schollenberger’s training to be the new boss at the Southeastern Narcotics Bureau. He’s always been the moral compass for his partner Lucky Lucklighter, or Simon Harrison, or whatever-the-hell his name is this week.
Lucky might have read the book, or parts of it, but toes the line between legal and…not so legal. A little moral elasticity lets him out-maneuver the bad guys. It’s not broke, why fix it?
They butt heads at work, but they’re rock solid at home, where their biggest concern is when, or if, they’ll become parents.
Their latest case puts them in a tailspin when drugs flood a local high school and someone hands Lucky’s nephew a vial of pills like they were candy. Unraveling the drug ring leads them straight into a nest of human trafficking, way outside the jurisdiction of the SNB, but no way could Bo and Lucky let the perpetrators leave Atlanta scot-free. No one gets away with harming innocents, especially family.
The letter of the law says to trust the legal system, but doing the right thing might lead them outside the lines.
Especially when the youngest trafficking victim lands squarely in Bo’s lap.

Oh no...the penultimate story 😥😥😥
***Audio Review***
Darcy did as grand a job as I expected. I cannot believe that the next book Benediction is the last we'll see of my fave narcotics agents Lucky & Bo, Walter, Rett and Charlotte. Surely they'll be shouting in Eden's ear for more stories? Oh, and how much longer is it going to take for Lucky to clue in that Char and Jimmy Salters are an actual item 🙂?
***Book Review ***
God, I just love this series 😍😍😍. Cannot wait for Darcy Stark and the audio for this one...human trafficking, Ty getting drugs at school [and the operation to bring the perps to justice]...and at the end?? (view spoiler) Fantastic, with happy tears from me. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I love this series
I was so happy when this book finally made its way into audio, it feels like it’s been forever since I last spent time with Bo and Lucky, and I was feeling the withdrawal…
Life is continuing for Bo and Lucky and the rest of the gang. Bo is training to take over after Walter at SNB and Lucky is training a new group of agents in undercover work. At home they love to have Charlotte and Ty living with them, even if things are a bit tense with the teenage boy but that’s only to be expected. But say the peace that lasts... One day Lucky finds a bottle of pills that Ty got from school, and I have to say that the way Lucky handled it with Ty really showed how far he’s come, that he can be calm and rational and not only the hot head we know and love. Obviously, it’s also something Lucky needs to investigate, unknown pills being handed out at a high school is not something he can, or will ignore.
The case in this book is two-fold, there are the pills in the school, but Loretta also found some suspicious activity in an abandoned warehouse. And while they investigate the latter they quickly realise that it’s much bigger than they initially thoughts, this drug ring isn’t only dealing in drugs, but also has a hand in human trafficking.
Story-wise Decision isn’t my favourite of the series, and it kind of took me by surprise. I’ve loved everything that happened in Bo and Lucky’s lives, loved watching them grow into the people they have become and the relationship they have. Each book sees them coming further, this book is no exception. But some of it felt a bit too convenient for me, and too rash, but that’s just me. Mystery-wise I really enjoyed it, it kept my attention for sure and it will be interesting to see what this will mean for Lucky going forward. I think it can be really good.
Darcy Stark is perfect for this series. He truly understands and knows each character and brings them all to life in a way that’s uniquely them. All of them have their own voice and personality clearly reflected in his performance. The books are worth reading in their own right, I dare you not to fall for Bo and Lucky, but listening to the books brings that extra layer. More than once I found myself stopping what I was doing to just listen to the book – and if you know me, that never happens. I always do a myriad of things when listening to audiobooks. But I was mesmerised.
There is one more book in the saga of Bo and Lucky and I can’t wait to see how this all ends. If you haven’t read or listened to this series yet, you need to change that now, but start from the beginning because you don’t want to miss a single thing.
