About this listen
Reanimated after being bitten, Vice Cop Derek Burnham and a mysterious woman named Lorelei now possess supernatural abilities and a hunger for human flesh in Dead Market.
It seems their reawakening has rewired their DNA. They are neither zombie nor vampire - but something created via genetic rewiring. When the pair discovers the true purpose behind their affliction - a corporation’s greed to expand its market share into the living dead - they must fight not only their sick compulsions, but also a multibillion dollar company hell-bent on hooking victims onto a new, cutting-edge pharmaceutical.

very enjoyable story
I was given this book for free as a review copy. That said i did very much enjoy it, it feels almost like an old fassion noir detective novel moved to a pre "zombie" setting. it sound out there but it works really well.
definatly worth a go.

Zombies meet noir detective
Solid story of a greedy corporation tapping into the twisted desires of a mad scientist, and the detective caught in the middle.
Well paced and avoids the need to justify it all with pseudo science makes for a fun semi noir detective zombie story, with the struggle to stay true to his morals. Great cast of supporting characters, the narrator being as dramatic as he can, even if it has one of the worst "mockney" accents ever recorded!
Well worth a listen and went a long way to keeping me sane at work.

Batman as a vampire?
This is a sci fi take on vampires and big pharma evilness. The mad doctor wants to do good, the big company wants to make money. Mix in a bit of sex snd a little revenge and you are soon following a cop who is just trying to keep doing good and figure out who turned him into a monster along the way. Interesting premise. Cool, unpredictable characters. Solid plot. Happy (ish?). Well, sufficiently happy ending to avoid total tragedy anyway. A great listen. The narrator helped keep up a good pace snd provided expression and depth. Don’t expect a lot of science. Do expect a bunch of action movie type running around snd beating up bad guys. I received this audiobook for free in exchange for a fair review

Dead Market
I was pulled into the story immediately and only paused for a break. I loved Starta's character, and his details of the entire story.

This was a great book!
Well developed characters and I thoroughly enjoyed the narration, the accents are little off but doesn't detract from the story at all.
I can quite confidently say this joins my favourites among Stephen King and Arthur Conan Doyle, definitely recommend this! Great work from the author and narrator.
