Summary
Millie Cameron is furious when she finds herself obliged to sort through the belongings of her aunt Flo, who has died recently. She hardly knew her aunt, and besides, she has her own career to think of.
Young, pretty, full of confidence - or so she likes to pretend - she wants nothing to do with a dull spinster aunt whom her family refuses to talk about. But when she arrives at Flo’s basement flat, Millie’s interest is awakened.

Thoroughly Enjoyable
This is my first Maureen Lee book. The dual timeline story had me gripped and encompassed the social history of the day.
The narrator was exceptional speaking a Liverpool accent. Although I only heard it, it was like watching a film. I was totally absorbed and really enjoyed it.

Lovely story
I really enjoyed the storyline, and the narration was really good. All the Maureen Lee books that I have listened to have been excellent so far.

Dancing in the dark
I’m sure it would be great if you just went straight through it . But no good if you listen over many nights. I got really lost with going backwards and forwards. Too many people and times in it.

One of my favourite books...
I love this book and have read it several times over the years. Maureen Lee really knows how to bring her characters to life. I jumped at the chance to buy the audio book and wasn't disappointed.

Very Enjoyable read
I enjoyed reading this book, it was easy to pick up and continue at any time. It brought to light the hardships of the people living in Liverpool during WW2. The friendship made, that lasted a lifetime was so strong and lovely to read about...
