Very Knowledgable and Thorough

I found the amount of information in this to be highly educational. The author provides a great amount of detail as well as overall ideas to consider. Therefore, this is a great way to learn when you don't know what you don't know, like me. It gives me an idea of what direction to go or what questions to ask. From aesthetics choices to must know pitfalls this book touches on all. It also effectively illustrates the needed tasks and solutions.

AMAZING!

Wow where do I begin with this book? I think when people think about DIY projects within the home, let's face it- it can be intimidating and at some points, expensive. This book was able to melt away any anxieties I had about fixing projects that I want to do within my home. I appreciate the tips that were sprinkled thoughout the chapter and even the bonus projects that I have never thought of before. The narration was a joy to listen to and I will definitely give this a relisten when tackling my next project. 5 stars!

Very Informative!

This come in handy, actually. With the expensive labor fees, DIY is the best option there is. You can literally learn what this book has and do it by yourself, which is truly amazing. It was a really great help to have this book in awhile, been planning a lot of project in this old house and lots needs to be fixed, it was a perfect time when I found and got this book. It was a bit complicated at first but you get a hang of it.

Very practical and full of tips!

I am always trying to do things myself at home so I have watched an uncountable amount of videos to get inspiration for my projects and learn how to get started. This was the first time listening to an audiobook and I must say that even though I was a bit hesitant at the beginning I really enjoyed the experience. I was looking to change the floors at home so Chapter 5 really was my favorite chapter. I found the experience to work on something while listening to the instructions really relaxing. Also, it comes with the free ebook which is always nice !

This book covers a lot!

I've been thinking about renovating my house for awhile, so I purchased this book to see if I could 'DIY' any of the renovations before turning everything over to a pricey contractor. While I don't quite have the confidence to DIY everything, I'm way more confident now that I was before! I was super impressed by the content in this book. It covers a lot of ground, and while it might not go in depth on every single topic, I at least know the terms and basic information now to better understand the home renovation process.

A Helpful Step - by -Step Guide!

The audiobook provides step by step guide for persons with not much experience in DIY, that will help anyone to learn to fix electronics and plumbing in a much easier way to improve the inside and outside of the house that I found helpful as there are so many things that I can fix myself now and save money.

So needed this!

Living in an old house, there's always something that needs doing or is in need of some tlc. This audiobook was just what I needed to help me master the skills and know how to fix things myself. Would recommend for diy newbies like me!

All the positives

As a first-time home-owner, I have ideas for how I want my house to look. However, in this economy, I can't afford to have a "professional" make all the changes I want. This audiobook covers the basics of most of the things I want to do. It has given me the confidence to try it myself first. Not only is the cost cheaper, but I have more passion and ownership of the projects I do. For example, I did my own backsplash. The book helped. Was it perfect? No. But I know the flaws were my own, and I love it more for that. It's MY home. I still use the instruction manual and watch a few YouTube videos before trying any DIY project. But so far, everything I have done has worked. And I love that I was the one to do it. It gives me confidence and pride.

Helpful intro guide

I’ll be totally honest and say that I’m a noob when it comes to DIY stuff. I’ve always wanted to undertake various projects around the house, but I’ve never really / actually taken the proverbial plunge.

That’s why I’m glad I found this audiobook. It served as a confidence booster — a great introduction to DIY projects. It gave me the basic knowledge I needed to feel like I know “what’s what” around the home, including what I can tackle versus what I need to bring someone else in for.

The part I found most helpful was the one revolving around WiFi / installing a router. Definitely one of those things that I feel like I should know and understand, but, until listening to the audiobook, did not. Lots of good aha moments like that here.

Homeowner handbook

Youtube is the place to go whenever I want to decide whether to do a project myself or hire someone to do the job. So if I was a realestate broker I would give this audiobook to every new homeowner. Today the HGTV and Magnolia Network are full of TV shows about home repair being done by the professionals. There are somethings that the homeowner can do to save a lot of money. The most important takeaway from this book is how to save money. Maintenance is the big difference between renting and owning. As the owner you will be paying for any type of repair. Preventive maintenance is what I learned while in the US Marine Corps as a Logisitics Officer. I apply the same techniques to prevent high cost of repairs. This book is a quick and easy listen and includes additional resources with a pdf download.
