The verdict is in
The verdict is in and I enjoyed this book. The mother and daughter duo are back looking into a not so simple case. They make a great and interesting team. This is the sixth book in the series and works as a standalone but a number a characters from previous cases put in an appearance and it's fun recognising names that are familiar. The mystery proved to be twisty in that it kept you guessing but not complicated that you forgot who everybody was it got confused, despite the large cast of characters. The story was slightly shorter than I am use to and you could probably listen to it all in one sitting but still entertaining, its longer and not as annoying as a novella. Look forward to the next book and case.
Judy wants to do a story on convicted murderer Ivy Sinclare, who killed her best friend. Ivy just wants her story told but she isn't helping her case by keeping big secrets. The more Judy learns the more she wonders if the right person is in jail but if Ivy can't even tell her her real name how can she trust anything she says? Judy doesn't want to prove her guilty or innocent, she just wants the truth.
The male narrator is an unusual choice when the main characters are both female but somehow he makes it work and it is an enjoyable listen.

Favourite is series
The whole series is great but this one is so good. It is nice easy listening with lots of twists. It is beneficial to listen to the other books but it could be read as a standalone.
The narration as always works - great range of voices.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Very Good!
I've enjoyed every book in this series but this is probably my favourite of all. With a wealth of characters that capture the imagination and a brilliant storyline it kept me enthralled from start to finish. For lovers of a good Cozy series this is a must read series. Highly recommended. Jeff Moon is a superb narrator and brings the whole story to life with his many voices for the characters. I am even tempted by the multilayered cheesecake for dessert. ☺
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the author and leave this honest review.
