Summary
As a wildlife photographer, Journey "JJ" Sutton never stays in one place too long. The world is his classroom, and he’s living his dream. His only regret is that he had to sacrifice the love of his life to do it. But as the saying goes, you can never go home again. That’s until there’s a family emergency, and he has to…well, go home again. His easy breezy lifestyle gets complicated fast. It certainly doesn’t help that his ex-fiancé has bought the house next door.
After an unstable childhood, Cameron Foster loves small-town life. He has everything he needs in his vet practice, his friends, and his animals. Despite what numerous exes seem to think, he’s not still in love with Journey. And so what if they add “benefits” to their friendship? As long as he keeps his heart out of the equation, everything should be fine.
Too bad Journey's not onboard with that plan. With summer ending, he has to convince Cameron that this is more than just a fling. This time around, he knows what he wants. He wants a second chance. He wants forever. Most of all, he wants Cameron’s heart.
Journey may have put away his passport, but things are just getting interesting.

Enjoyable
I enjoyed this book because it was a fairly easy listen. Though there were times when I really felt for Journey and they way everyone treated him.

A second chance at love!
This is an amazing story!! Coddiwomple is a second chance romance, sweet, low angst, entertaining, emotional, with a lot of humor and a few furry friends! Journey and Cameron are wonderful characters with an amazing life or so they thought. This was a very good story and I love it!
Cameron Foster loves his small town life, he is a vet and he just need his clinic, his animals and friends. Because of his constant moving as a child he need stability and living in Coral Cove is all he wants. Journey “JJ” Sutton is a wildlife photographer he never stays in one place too long, the is living his dream. He have to sacrifice the love of his life to be able to enjoy his dream.
Because of a family emergency Journey have to come back to Coral Cove, I love watching Cam and Journey dance around each other and denied their feelings and later find their way back to each other. Both want a second chance and forever together.
I love this audiobook Nick Hudson did an amazing job narrating this book.!! I love how Cam and Journey’s love story was truly entertaining and sweet, I highly recommended it.

Melancholy
Journey is a successful photographer. He has traveled the world wide but is feeling he has missed something. When he has to deal with a family emergency he finds himself faced with his ex.
Cameron is Journey’s ex who has become a sort of member of Journey’s family. He gets faced with his past decisions when he has to interact with Journey again.
This is a heartbreaking story. Journey’s early life is faced with responsibility that he couldn’t wait to escape. Cameron also has a sad past. He could have gone with Journey but his life is with his hometown and career.
I loved Journey and was glad the author resolved his family relationships. I really appreciate how the backgrounds and current issues were well explained.
The narration by Nick Hudson fit these personalities perfectly.

A Heartwarming Second Chance❣Great Story & Listen!
This fabulous second chance romance not only captivated my attention the entire time, but it tugged at my heartstrings, too. S.E. Harmon is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style and way with words that brings you into her stories, placing you in the head of her characters, allowing you to experience everything they are, what they are seeing, feeling and thinking. The amount of heart she puts into her stories is incredible and you can feel the emotions pour off the pages straight into your own heart. Journey Sutton is a wildlife photographer and his profession takes him all over the world. It is a skill he is great at and a profession he loves, but it cost him the love of his life, his one and only love, Cameron Foster. When he gets the call from his family that their father had a medical emergency, he had to return home and it was Cameron who met him at the airport. I loved the complexity of the characters and all the layer to the story. I enjoyed learning more about these characters and it was great to watch Journey and Cameron dance around each other and then rekindle their friendship and navigate their new relationship. Journey wanted to take it further, but Cameron knows he was leaving again and he does not think he could handle another heartbreak. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a beautiful story, one finding their way home with family and love. The story has the perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, heartwarming charm, heartfelt emotions, and a wonderful romance. S.E. Harmon, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Nick Hudson did a fine job bringing these characters to life and understood who he was portraying. He set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. Hudson is an entertaining storyteller, however I felt he could do better with his pacing, but since this is an older book I am sure he has improved on his craft since then, and despite that it is definitely a worthy listen.

Second chance romance
First I read this book when the ebook was released and now I had the chance to listen to it. And I still loved it as much as the first time. The story is very well plotted and with a steady pace, doesn't feel rushed and we get to know the characters throughout the book. Journey and Cam are wonderful, well-developed characters, different from one another, but complementing each other so well. I love the trope second chances and in this book, this trope was very well portrayed.
If you like emotional, heartbreaking moments, small-town vibes, and a HEA this book is for you. The only thing that did not appeal to me was the small-town gossip around the couple, although it was very well written.

Nick is an amazing narrator.....he brought my attention to another author and darn it, this man can't pick a bad book to narrate. The story was amazing. 2nd chance romance at it's finest and of course a cranky old man to add some laughs

Journey and Cam
I just finished listening to The First and Last Adventure of Kit Sawyer by SE Harmon. I immediately picked up Coddiwomple. When this book started in the wilds of Africa, I thought it was headed in a very different direction than the one it wound up taking – but I can’t say I was disappointed.
I found Journey a fascinating character. Known as JJ to his family, he took his role as eldest son seriously and stepped up when tragedy struck the family. He stuck around just long enough to see his youngest brother old enough to care for himself and then Journey struck out, following the Coddiwomple journal he found in his parents’ attic. The problem? He left behind the love of his life, and fiancé, Cameron. Cam, after living a tumultuous childhood, was determined to live a quiet adulthood. He studied veterinary medicine to follow in the footsteps of his beloved step-mother. He chose Coral Cove over traveling all over the world. He chose home.
Journey chose adventure.
When a crisis brings Journey home, he finds the family he’s barely kept up with doesn’t trust him to stick around for a while, even though he’s given his word. Folks in town start up the gossiping again. Especially since Cam is single again after Charlotte, his fiancée left him, breaking his heart. The truth? He’s happy for Charlotte. In fact, he’s pretty happy with his life. His foster racoon as well as his foster dog, Kona, who appears to be half wolf. He has a big heart for everyone in town – all creatures big and small.
Cam and Journey circle each other and while Journey’s good with a quick roll in the hay, Cam wants more. Except Journey’s leaving and they can’t be together, right? Because Cam will just have his heart broken all over again. Except maybe he never got over Journey.
Anyway, I loved this second chance romance. I loved Journey’s dad. I love Bailey at the vet clinic. I loved all the secondary characters who brought such life to the book.
I especially loved Biscuit. Or Sasha. Or Snickers. Whatever her name was, I adored her.
This was a great book and not what I was expecting with the moody cover. It just worked and a good part of that was Nick Hudson’s great narration. He did a superb job with an interesting book. This story felt quite simple, and yet also had many layers of complexity as it unfolded. I’m so glad I took a chance on this audio.

MM - Second change love
Journey is a wildlife photographer from a small town who escaped but has returned to help his father after he fell ill.
Cameron, Journey's fiancé from when they were in their twenties, loves his small-town life. But his world is rocked when Journey re-enters it.
I love the dynamics between these two. The chemistry is good, but the fear is strong on both sides.
Nick Hudson's narration of the book was good, clear, and concise.
I soon became invested in their lives and their relationship.
I recommend this book, especially the audio version.

Advent listen/narration first class
Five plus stars from me 😊
Absolutely adored this book. Made me smile much of the way through, and laugh out loud at times. It's so witty, warm, and engaging, it drew me in from the beginning, and I didn't put it down til I'd finished. I loved the wit and sass that appears throughout the book. It had me laughing out loud so many times. Cam's take on Dr Seuss had me howling:
"“Okay, everyone, listen up, because I’m only going to say this once. I am not buying roses. I am not getting on a plane. I am not buying bamboo. We will not be kissing in the rain.” I winced at Glenna’s crestfallen expression. I felt like I was writing the world’s meanest Dr. Seuss book entitled Miss Me With That Bullshit."
What at first seems like it will be a straightforward story, (second chance romance, and all that), becomes more complex, as you read. I loved the way in which Journey and Cam initially danced around one another, when it was obvious that they were made to be together; but for Cam, it was a case of once bitten, twice shy.
It's wonderfully light reading, the sarcasm/wit is strong with this one. It's not all sweetness and light though, Journey's back story explains a lot, and gives us insight as to why he acted as he did.
The secondary characters are very well written, and are integral to the story, oh, and there's lots of animals, every one of which adding to the charm of the story. My favourite was Kona, who:
"In her world, bad was good, good was good, she was the goodest girl, and eating my phone was all in a day’s work."
It hit just the right note for me at this time, with a lovely and upbeat ending. Ms Harmon never disappoints, very highly recommended. Having just finished the audible version, I must say that Nick Hudson really did an excellent job at representing the characters, he captured the wit of the story perfectly. First class read and listen, recommended.
