About this listen
Contains episodes four, five, and six of Claw & Warder.
Silkie Stalkings, Episode Four
After three bodies surface in the Hudson River over a period of three weeks, Oriscoe and Nogan catch the case. Nothing seems to connect the three men until the detectives discover they all used Sinder, the online dating app. Their digital footprints reveal a common thread - a penchant for supernatural women. The catch is, Lucifer owns Sinder. It runs on a proprietary mix of devilry and technology, and the Dark Lord wants to keep his secrets, even if it is his favorite niece asking. But there's a seal-bridezilla swiping her suitors right...into the Hudson. When Dru and the devil lock horns, will it fall to Leery to run down her Silkie Stalkings?
They Ate Gatsby, Episode Five
The Dead Set defines high society in the Locus of New York. Lavish soirees, formal dinner parties, decadent blood tastings, debutante balls, black-tie charity galas...the vampires do it all. When socialite J. Gatsby goes missing, only one detective has the background, the breeding, and the poise to go undercover to root out the truth. Of course, Leery brings Dru along for good measure. And it's good he did, because when the blood lords grow suspicious of a werewolf's scent on the wind, Dru must use all of her charm to distract those suckers. Can the two detectives avoid discovery long enough to learn why They Ate Gatsby?
Gnome Schooled, Episode Six
In the NYPD's Supernatural Inquisitors Squad, a Warder has no higher calling than to protect her Claw. She uses magic, guile, physical weapon - anything required - and her razor-sharp focus never blurs. Drusilla Nogan exemplifies this grand tradition...except when there's a cute gnome to talk to. With a notorious gnome gang on the loose, committing crimes all over Manhattan, Leery plays bad cop. The gnomes respond with raw, unfettered violence. Will Dru notice before Leery gets Gnome Schooled?

Funny and brilliant
This being the second of the three volumes of the series I can honestly say it gets by. To hear Lucifer being called Uncle Luci really brought a suppressed giggle to me. Loving the characters more and more.

Another excellent installment
I'm still stunned as to how excellent this series is! I originally got the first installment of the series as it was free and I was just looking for something to have on in the background that I wouldn't need to think about as I picked up a new crochet project, but within 20 minutes I was hooked (totally unintentional pun! 😂) and by half way through I had gone and bought the other two in the series.
Again, the stories are fast paced, exciting and really hold your attention. They're also really original and I've now found each new episode builds well onto the previous ones - stories or characters mentioned a few episodes before will pop up as part of a future story or just be spoken about in the passing, adding another layer of richness to the story in general. The world building also is second to none - bringing real life folk tales and weaving them into modern day New York really just kind of works.
The character interactions and relationships are also well written, especially leery and dru, and I'm loving the way their relationship is deepening and they're getting closer - I'm a sucker for a romance so I have my fingers crossed for them!
The narration is, again, fantastic, with different voices and accents used for each character - there might be the same accent used for a few different side characters, but not usually within the same story and definitely not within the same scene, so it's not confusing and to be fair, there's only so many voices a person can do so you have to forgive the narrator this. Hes made it onto my list of favourite narrators, that's for sure.
I know the series is meant to be tongue in cheek and maybe a bit jokey - from reading the authors website I know he come up with idea when he was on strong pain killers and that kind of makes sense, but it's just a really great series! Again, I will say, if you're looking for a serious and gritty crime series this likely will not be for you, but if you're looking for an entertaining way to pass a few hours, with a lot of laughs and good story that doesn't take itself all that seriously, definitely give this series a go.

Must be sponsored by Stabucks
Coffee, coffee, coffee ad nauseam. Has spoied for me what was otherwise an above average series. I won't be continuing with it sadly.
