Editor reviews

One of the greatest actors of all time, Laurence Olivier, gives sterling performances in adaptations from the works of one of the greatest English authors, Charles Dickens.

Laurence Olivier features in the restored and remastered Theatre Royal adaptations for 1950s radio audiences of A Christmas Carol and "Mr. Micawber’s Difficulties", drawn from David Copperfield. It is the only radio series in which Lord Olivier would perform and highlights his ability, within a company of other accomplished actors, to spark the imagination with the power of his (and Dickens’) words.

Review of Audible

A superb service. Excellent value for money options. But very few chapter headings, and often chapter numbers do not Co-ordinate with the text chapters. I do appreciate the Theatre Royal recordings, but I also wish that in this series it could be more apparent which plays are being offered each time. Good quality acting, and well selected stories.
