Summary
I made a deal with a demon so I could be free. Boy, did that blow up in my face.
Everything is falling apart just as I thought it was coming together. The Mercer twins say I’m their mate. I believe them, even if I can’t let them claim me. No matter how badly my soul yearns to be theirs.
Pan laid out his terms and I ignored them once already. Now, Ben is in jail for a murder he didn’t commit, Asher’s curse is spreading, and Remi and I are no closer to finding a way to free either of them. If that wasn’t tricky enough, the Duke of Tears has found me. And Gavin has made it clear he has no intention of leaving without his wife. But I refuse to leave them.
My flirtatious wolf. My haunted hacker. My broken alpha.
And I already know my mischievous demon will never let me go. The mark he seared into my flesh is proof of that. If I’ve learned anything from my Blackthorne ancestors, it's how to protect my mate. So while Pan thinks he’s got me over a barrel, I’m the one using him to my advantage.
After all, there’s more than one way to deal with a demon.
WARNING: The Mate Games: Pestilence is a spicy why choose series that is sure to set your…heart…on fire. If you’re not a fan of grumpy dukes with a penchant for pain, purple demons with fancy body parts, nosy hackers with boundary issues, angsty wolf shifters who like to share, sword crossing, and plenty of group activities, this one’s not for you. But if it is…welcome back to The Mate Games, we’ve been waiting for you.

Sensory Overload - the best book so far! 100 stars
Where on earth do I start? I keep staring at this blank page thinking how the hell do I put into words what THAT experience was like. I'm still not entirely sure I can do it justice. All I keep coming back to is that this book was WAY TOO MUCH in the very best way. A pure and intense sensory overload. If you listen to this then just block out the whole day to experience the whirligig of emotions and highs and when you think they can't throw in anymore delights you are wrong. This book definitely needs to come with a health warning:
Listeners will reach dangerous levels of heat and arousal which will only be exacerbated by continual listening. Listeners are advised not to operate heavy machinery or in general go outside until symptoms have passed. Drink water regularly and note that reality will be severely lacking after experiencing this book.
It is probably too early to say this, and I will be proved a liar when Books 3 and 4 finally come out, but this book is probably the best one yet. The word I would use to describe my feelings for this book is infatuation. Meg and Kim just keep improving and building on what has come before and when you think they can't go further, be better, they smash your silly little pre-conceptions and I love it.
Therefore I'm going to have to reach for the thesaurus for this one because I can't think of many more adjectives to describe how awesome this one is, here we go:
Claimed by the Shifters is an enchanting, captivating, fiery, engrossing conflagration of passion, desire, pain and love which will leave you breathless. Meg and Kim have managed to build an intoxicating world with elements of mystery and supernatural dealings which will leave you hooked and trying desperately to look for all the clues to guess how it will all pan (ha, unintended pun) out. But you kind of get distracted from that in this one because of the group of characters that they have created that you just cannot help but love...or lust after.
The groundwork of establishing the world and rules of this round of Mate Games was laid in Book 1 so this one the authors let the reins off and let our girl Rosie have some wicked fun with all her guys. If any book can sell #WhyChoose then its this one. You can expect a lot of threesome action with a couple of different set ups (clue is in the title), as well as some 1 on 1s and experimenting with BDSM. Oh and a certain forked tongue Demon, lets not forget him. Our heroine Rosie might be sweet and caring but she has veracious appetites and her mates are ready to rise to the challenge.
The reason this one is my favourite is that there is a lot of time and scenes where we are able to just spend time with the characters as they figure out the dynamics of their relationships. Remi and Asher for example start to explore their feelings for each other despite both loving Rosie as well. There is so much unspoken longing and need between these two, delivered in standing ovation style performances by Jacob Morgan and Teddy Hamilton. The chemistry between these two and Stella Hunter is just crackling and definitely a highlight of this book. Check your comfort levels because these three go to some places ;) and it is inferno level.
Speaking of the narrators, again I sound like a broken record but this is a game changing experience with this level of talent in the multicast. They really add their own touches to these characters which is why I cherish them and care about them so much. Again the beautiful magical partnership of genius writers and extraordinary actors!
My personal favourite of the group remains fan favourite, the grumpy Alpha Shifter Ben who is played exquisitely by J.F.Harding. I defy you not to melt and swoon as soon as he brings on the seductive Daddy tones or the underlying vulnerability. There are particular scenes towards the end of this book where he even made me cry when you dig into more of the dark backstory of the trauma he experienced as a child and I was blown away by him.
John Hartley was clearly reveling in his role as the wickedly seductive sadist vampire Gavin with his silkily and dulcet tones and really leaning into the decadent Duke of Tears. His delivery was impeccable and there is one certain voicemail scene which he delivered to perfection and which sent me into a laughter spiral for about 2 hours. Yet he also manages to tap into the deeply buried softer side (when it comes to Rosie at least) of Gavin without making him ridiculous. He will make you shiver and swoon but beware he likes it when you cry and expect pain with your pleasure.
Finally there is the demon Pan, played by a jaw dropping, scene stealing James Joseph. Meg and Kim have warned readers that Pan is a deliberate "marmite" character. You will either love him or hate him. He is a Demon so your starting assumption should really be amorality at the very least. His world view and moral compass are completely at odds with ours therefore some of his actions can make you dislike him. But he was never meant to be a straight up hero, he is an amoral anti-hero but that doesn't mean he can't, in his own warped way, care about Rosie. The way I see him is he's just an overgrown child, he's never come across something he can't have before and he finds Rosie intriguing, infuriating, fascinating and he wants her but can't and he's not got the emotional intelligence to deal with it. But even after all that, who the hell cares if you like him, just listen to James Joseph work his hypnotic magic with that sinfully seductive voice and just ride that wave :)
Stella Hunter remains the standout though, in this all star line up, with Rosie who is just adorable, sweet, desirable and how could you not love her. She also gets to really delve into her dark side with a truly spine tingling turn as Aisling and fan favourite the intriguing Demon Lilith.
Speaking of cameos, you will need to have read the entire previous series in order to really appreciate, or in my case fangirl scream, with some quite brilliant cameos from some key characters including extended scenes of Lilith and her poppet Crombie. (Side note The world NEEDS Lilith and Crombie's story).
Let me end by saying this is a book which will make you feel ALL the feelings. Meg and Kim will pin you down and force on you an avalanche of scorching pleasure, followed by a sea of intimate heartwarming scenes and drive you to the brink of despair with THAT cliffhanger. Grab your supplies, call in sick to work and cancel meet up friends and buckle up for one hell of a ride.

Holy Shifters!
Well, this didn't end like I thought it would! But that is what I love about Meg Anne and K Loraine! They keep me coming back for more. Pan still is trying to keep his prize, and Rosie is still hot and heavy with her four mates. This book is full of unpredictable action with twists and turns, unlikely alliances and passion like we have never seen! These four are men are HOT! And while I thought my favorite was Asher, I am now drawn to the dominance of Gavin. He knows what Rosie needs! The evil that surrounds Rosie is coming closer, and her worth is more than anyone imagined. The ending, well I can't even begin to wrap my head around it. This is an emotional roller coaster. I will be patient for book 2, but I NEED TO KNOW!!!!
And the narration. I don't have to tell you just how good it is. From JF Harding's stutter as Ben to the alphaness of John Hartley of Gavin, this cast could not be better suited to each character. Drop in Teddy Hamilton as Asher and Jacob Morgan as Remy and its dynamite! And I can't forget Pan, as much as he is making me crazy, James Joseph portrays him perfectly. Add in the very talented Stella Hunter with all her amazing accents, and this is an award winning performance.

This book is a wild ride
The second book of the Mate Games Pestilence series is a wild ride! So many twists and turns and even includes a visit from some old friends. It will have you on your knees by the end. Watch out for the mother of all cliffhangers which will haunt you. I’m so ready for the next book, I need to know what happens. (Plus it’s always fun when one of your absolute favourite narrators calls your name - swoon - thanks Meg and Kim). If you haven’t listened to the audio book version of this series I implore you to do so. The narrators do an exemplary job of bringing these characters to life and their chemistry is off the charts!

This cast is on fire!
This is book 2 of The Mate Games: Pestilence series. This is a PNR fantasy RH romance. The story of Rosie, Asher, Pan, Gavin, Remi & Ben continues. We get some twists and turns and some new secrets. The steam in this book is high, and the sexy scenes are hot. The audiobook is narrated by Teddy Hamilton, J.F. Harding, John Hartley, Stella Hunter, James Joseph, and Jacob Morgan, and I really enjoyed it. This cast is on fire, their narration is impressive, and the voices and characters are spot on; you need to experience the story this way. They definitely know how to enhance it.

Highly recommended!
Well, the authors have continued with their rollercoaster with this one being hilarious and very, very hot and steamy!! 🥵 🔥
Gavin, my favourite, has joined the harem and things are afoot and people are wheeling and dealing with vampires, shifters, witches and demons.
Trouble is brewing with birds and foliage dying in which Pan"demic" is playing his part!
We are left at the end of the book with the most unexpected shocker and cliffhanger. How on earth is it going to continue? Roll on April for #3
The #duet #multicast #audio is phenomenal and all the narrators poured their souls into the book and brought all the characters to life.

Amazing series
All I can say right off the bat is it’s worth the wait! Kim and Meg are a dynamic duo for writing PNR filled with Heat that is scorching, lol bantering and so much super natural nastiness that will make you cringe and shake your head. Plus a group of men all wanting their true mate Rosie in every way possible.
But that cliffhanger still has my mouth hanging open and that’s after listening to this audiobook twice right in secession. Oh my forking gods Meg Anne and Kim are trying to kill me!
Again the audio is absolutely, bloody fabulous! Eargasm all throughout this next book in the Pestilence Series. Full multi talented narration♥️
I don’t know if I can survive without knowing what happens next but I am going to be on pins and needles until then.
Wowza that ending had me bawling my eyes out! And wondering where the story is going next. Because there’s two major cliffhangers that left me breathless because I think I held my breath in shock so long that I almost passed out. I’m just going to bow to the queens Meg Anne and Kim and hope that the wait isn’t long for the next book.

End of times
Rosie has so much happening, mated to shifters, her estranged husband showing up, mated to her hacker and oh the incredibly hot smut.
She’s got dark desires and plenty of mates for them all.
I can’t wait to see what deliciousness comes next!

This picked up right where book 1 ended. Gosh Im having a fun time with this cast. The banter is like ridiculously hilarious! Bridgerton references were icing on the cake. Rosie eh, just a tad bit annoyed with her, but thats just me. Loved the guys. I can't wait to see whats next.
The duet audiobook is narrated by Stella Hunter, Teddy Hamilton, JF Harding, John Hartley, James Joseph, and Jacob Morgan. They all did an awesome job.
I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Excellent!
I was lucky enough to be able to download this book within an hour of finishing the first book in this wonderfully exciting series, perfect timing indeed because this book picks up where Deal with The Demon finished.
Rosie's location has been discovered by Gavin and the cat is out of the bag, Asher, Ben and Remi now know that she ran from her vampire husband Gavin who wants her back but Rosie's not prepared to go with him. Gavin thinks he can force the issue by threatening her family but soon learns that's not going to work. But finding out her real identity is not all Ben and Remi have to deal with, they now know that her family are vampires, will this be one discovery too many?
Ben and Remi are forced to answer their tormentor's call again, this time leading to what could have been a devasting outcome if not for Gavin realising that Rosie would never forgive him if he didn't help and as he's accepted that she has more of a hold on him than he has on her that's not something he wants.
But it's not just Gavin who realises that Rosie is alive, and although she's happy about some people knowing, some can use it against not only her but her family and the guys too. Gavin's acceptance that in order to be with Rosie means sharing seems to be having a mellowing effect on his nature and he steps up more than once to help the other guys.
Asher's curse seems to be worsening, and Pan's hold on her becomes more tenuous, that is until she is forced to make yet another deal with him and Ben and Remi are forced to face again the terror they lived through as children. But just as all four of Rosie's guys seem to come together and the future for them all is looking good the authors decide to throw in their most shocking cliffhanger yet! It's a good job nobody was around to hear my scream of NO!!!! Or my shout of F--K No when they shocked me even more with what happened next. I don't know where they intend to take this story but I do know that I hope I find out soon.
The narration is in duet by an excellent star-studded cast of Stella Hunter, JF Harding, James Joseph, Teddy Hamilton, and Jacob Morgan, what can I say about their contribution to this wonderful story except each is amazing? I'll try to be more specific, Stella Hunter's Rosie is perfect, but each of them has created the perfect voices for these characters. JJ is one of my favourites and I love listening to him, JF Harding and Teddy Hamilton's contributions were wonderful too. Meg Anne and K Loraine have done it again writing a wonderful story and picking the best narrators to bring their wonderful characters to life.
I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Twisty, turny, spicy and wild
This book is NOT for the faint of heart! It's a pulse-pounding, wild ride full of spice, twists and turns that will leave you captivated and keep you coming back for more.
Claimed by the Shifters is book two in The Mate Games: Pestilence series, which follows Rosie and her menagerie of mates, from twin wolf shifters, a vampire, a human hacker, and a demon that you'll love to hate. Kim and Meg have made this series even hotter, even bigger, even wilder, than The Mate Games: War series. I'm obsessed with Gavin, Asher, Ben and Remy. OBSESSED! Each leading man is so different, but so intriguing, and each brings out a different side of Rosie. Plus their interactions with each other are amazing. Kim and Meg have found the perfect balance of action, intrigue, evil and humor to keep you wildly entertained for hours.
We're left with another wild cliffhanger here, and I can't wait for book 3! Bring on Captive of the Night.
The audio version is simply stellar. This is an amazing full-cast audio production, with some of the most amazing narrators the industry has to offer. Stella Hunter, Teddy Hamilton, J.F. Harding, John Hartley, James Joseph and Jacob Morgan each bring so much personality and emotion to their characters. James Joseph even has me absolutely loving the bad boy demon, Pan!
There are definitely trigger warnings for this series, so please make sure to check the series website for details.
