Summary

The second audiobook in the feel-good Cornish Girls series, following Wartime with the Cornish Girls.

It’s 1941, and Christmas is approaching in St. Ives....

Shy Lily wishes she could hide from the war. But when her friend Eva writes asking if she’ll join her in St. Ives, Lily can’t refuse. There are officers to nurse back to health and a Christmas party to plan....

Eva came to St. Ives to be near Max, the stranger who almost gave his life protecting her from an air-raid. But the wounded pilot keeps pushing her away.

Rose can’t help envying beautiful Eva, who turns too many heads. But when she suspects the orphanage next door is mistreating its charges, Eva is the only one who can help her....

Can they give the children, and the officers, the Christmas they deserve?

A heart-warming tale of sisterhood in wartime, for fans of Nancy Revell and Donna Douglas.

Enjoyable read book 2

Love the characters in This book and the story line is good. Unfortunately not the best narrator. Some if her character voices boarder cringe. But this won’t stop me listening to all the books and please don’t me put off by this review.

First review

Excellent story, but the narrater was disappointing, hard to listen to. Hope the next book has a different narrator

Narrator too annoying but great story

I am sad they changed narrator as this one is slow and annoying. Her character interpretation is not good and after loving the first book I've given up on this one before the end all because of the narrator. It's too hard to listen to and I'm really disappointed

Disappointed!

I couldn’t wait for the story to end.
What a shame it was made so boring by the narrator. Would love to have read the next three books in the series, but such a disappointment when I read the narrator will be the same person. Why was the narrator changed from the first book?
