Perfectly peaceful and beautifully read
The whole audio was perfect in cadence to suit the topic. The guided meditations were also well considered, with enough time given for practice, and importantly, permission to get it wrong. I have learned a great deal from this book and will certainly return to deepen my practice.

Deep and deeper
Really, really good.Gentle voice, true to Thomas Keating's approach, an experienced and nuanced meditator, teacher, pray-er, such depth of truth that feels Spirit-inspired.Practical, it takes you into what you so want to know, and then realise you don't need anything, all is Gift, you are already there.

An excellent practical Introduction
I found this audiobook to be an excellent introduction to Centering Prayer. It made really good use of the audiobook format to guide me through the practices.

A very special audio book
If you are looking for a meditation based on Christian tradition this is for you. Contemplation is a prayer without words. It is about letting God to guide us and let it be in our life. This book will give you a lot of peace in you mind.

Some authors weren’t born to be narrators
ARRGGGHHHHH!!!!! Why do so many authors insist on reading their own books. This guy sounds like a woman in a mid-life crisis who has decided to become a yoga instructor and says she’s become “spiritual”, which really means she’s filled her house will Buddhist statues and Hindu imagery because she thinks they’re pretty.the voice becomes forced and put on for effect. He needs to remember that God called HIM to this topic, not the flimsy fake voiced man he becomes when reading this book, he tries to add effect, but God has said HE is enough, otherwise he would have called a man with a passionate soft fake voice to write this book instead. So, the big question is; has he actually been called to write this book? (If not, you shouldn’t read it.) Or, is he lacking the faith to trust that God called HIM, as he is, to write this book? Because there is no way that this is the natural way he talks and the book has become unlistenable.
I wanted a book on centred prayer because the topic is awesome and something I wanted to develop in my own life. But the author is an appalling narrator. He is deliberately trying to make his voice softer, in an attempt to be soothing and relaxing, but it’s soooo poor, I doubt I’ll get any further into the book. If we’ve bought the book, it’s to learn how to do centred prayer and the theology behind it. He seems to think that we will be active in centred prayer as reading this, but that’s a complete paradox, as centred prayer needs to be free from distractions. As such, I give this book a big thumbs down and suggest you look for something else. I’m really sad about this too as it’s a book which should be growing our spiritual relationship with God, yet instead seems to feed the authors ego. Bye!
