Summary

Cassidy Clarke wants to find herself. Tasked with scattering her friend Mason’s ashes, she heads to the campground where they met as kids. She expects the grief. She expects the guilt. She expects how absent she feels in her own life. What she doesn’t expect is the broken disrepair of the campground. Or the grouchily broody, yet intriguingly beautiful, cabin manager.

Francesca Sisto wants to lose herself. A deadly tragedy eight months ago has left her battered and guilt-ridden. The job at a rundown, very sparsely populated campground was supposed to keep her away from people. But when a very demanding and infuriatingly attractive guest keeps calling, she has no choice but to be a person and interact. They aren’t looking for love, they’re actively avoiding it. Nobody knows better than Cassidy and Frankie that life doesn’t always give you what you want. But sometimes, if you’re lucky, life gives you exactly what you need.

Grief and recovery

A great story of how people can make all the difference in recovery from trauma of some kind as, when you’re alone it’s only your own thoughts but when other people are around, they have new ones.

Two lost souls find each other.

This was a very different story than I thought it was but I really enjoyed it, great characters, great story, low angst and HEA. All you want from this author who has made it an art form.

forgiveness

as someone who's been punishing themselves with guilt in seclusion, this story hit home. we blame ourselves for all sorts of reasons, if I'd done this or that, when it's rarely the cause.

Georgia writes with a compassion for both mcs' who are feeling thier own guilt, she also describes the beauty of winter wilderness, having no experience of summer camps in uk, but yet I felt I was there.

Lula Larkin is a wonderful narrator who always portrays an empathy with her delivery, and i always feel like I have hot chocolate warmth running through me

beautiful winter romance

Pretty ordinary really

Nothing special or new about this one. Cliche storyline, snowed in cabin in the woods etc etc. Had to listen at faster speed to get through it quicker as it was a tad boring.
