Summary
It may be cold outside, but inside, the temperature is rising. When grad student Kevin Taggert goes home with his best friend for Thanksgiving, the last thing he expects is to drool over the guy’s dad. Forty-eight-year-old Drew Freeman would love a relationship, but he never expected to find it with his son’s best friend.
When a last-minute change of plans leaves Drew and Kevin alone in a cabin the week before Christmas, the heat between them is too much to deny. Although they promise it’ll only last the week, every day that passes brings them closer together. When Christmas Day arrives - along with Drew’s son - can they salvage the relationship and the holiday?

Feel good age gap romance
An unexpected romance but it made for a good story. I enjoyed the narration. It was clear with no irritating mannerisms and so was easy to listen to and follow.

Sweet Christmas romance
James Edward Jones did an amazing job, his performance was great.
This is a sweet, low-angst love story with a big age gap and a hint of forbidden to spice things up a bit.
Though I liked both MCs and I love the best-friend's-dad trope, I felt the emotions were on the surface and I'd have loved to see more depth, especially when Jason finds out about their relationship.
But it certainly fits the bill for the fell good holiday book.

Sweet and tender age gap romance
I absolutely loved Drew and Kevin.
The easy camaraderie they had with each other and the slow build-up to actual romance was amazing.
The way Drew cared for Kevin and helped him sort through his situation with his family was wonderful.
There was some angst with Jason, Kevin's best friend and Drew's son finally knowing the situation between them but it all worked out for the best.
An absolutely beautiful love story.
The narrator did an amazing job bringing these characters to life.
Looking forward to from this narrator.

Perfect holiday story 💜
I love holiday stories and I read this one last year and absolutely loved it so I was happy to listen to it. The chemistry and connection between the characters was so hot. I enjoyed following their journey as they got to know each other. They do try and resist each other but when they end up spending a week alone before Christmas they agree to only have that week together but end up falling more in love with each other. When they are found in bed by Drew's son they all have to make a decision whether to take a chance of a future together. This was a sweet holiday story and the narration was very good too.

4.5
A perfect book for this time of year with the main bulk of the book being set at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I liked that there was a significant age gap but that their different ages didn't affect how quickly they bonded over common interests. They really did work as a couple and not just as two people who were attracted to each other.
Of course there are a couple of bumps but they are quickly sorted and we get a decent slightly steamy epilogue.
The narration was good, at times I got confused as to who was speaking and didn't always feel a lot of emotion from it, but I really enjoyed the tone and pitch. I would listen to more of this narrator in future as the pacing was great and it was easy to follow along with.
I'd listen again for sure

Great story
Story: I love Brigham Vaughn’s stories and this one was really fun too! An age gap story with great characters.
Narration: far from my favorites. The performance leaves a lot to wish for, especially when it comes to dialogs, because they feel awfully stiff. The ease of casual conversation and the emotions are just not there unfortunately.

Sweet and steamy
Kevin and Drew had so much chemistry! This was an sweet, steamy and a great book! Best friends dad and a age gap. All of that in a snowy cabin. What can go wrong?
The only person I did´t like was Jason, he never thought about his dad and only about his girl. But it was good for Drew and Kevin so they got to know each other.
This was the first time I listen to a book with James as a narrator but I think he did a great job!
