Summary

Dandelion wishes. Grains of sand. Shooting stars. Butterfly kisses.

Murder and mothballs. Carnage and blood.

Black leather gloves and too many lilies.

Time can swallow her whole, and it’s almost up.

WELLS

She’s my mission. My prize. My obsession.

Ivy Kingston is the most wanted woman in the world for reasons she is completely oblivious to, reasons I intend to capitalize on.

She needs a husband to receive her inheritance, so I’m on the hunt for a wife. As long as it’s her.

I’m not who she thinks I am. But she has no idea who she really is either.

I’ll be her groom. Her keeper. Her lover. And quite possibly her demise.

IVY

People often underestimate me. They shouldn’t.

Gavin Wells is dreamy and delicious. Dark and mysterious. His world is exactly where I want to be.

But he’s got me in a choke hold of smoke and mirrors.

Someone should have warned him that burning ivy releases toxic spores.

Because I’m the spark who can reduce him to ashes.

Brilliant Story & Narration🎧 Gripping & Twisted!

Wow, what an amazing story, and to hear this was Brandy Hynes’ debut novel makes it even more amazing, her writing style is impressive, and so is the story and characters she created, as well as the incredible world building and character growth and development. It is an original story, and it hooked me in right from the start, grabbing my attention and holding it captive for the entire book, so much so that nothing else around me mattered except what was going to happen next. I was told it was best to go into this book knowing as little as possible and to avoid spoilers, and I am glad I did, because there are a lot of layers to the story and twists and turns, which are wild. Ivanna “Ivy” Kingston learns she must marry by the age of twenty-three to receive her trust fund, which is only months away. She is not sure why her father added that stipulation, but a stroke incapacitated her father so he cannot explain or even change it. Her mother found her suitable partners, though she was not interested, until she bumped into him, Gavin Wells. Gavin has his own agenda, but he hears her out and agrees to her terms and to marry her, so she could get her trust fund. She agrees to move into his home, a home he shares with three of his friends and coworkers, Ty, Gage and Liam. Life is going great, but Wells has secrets, ones he needs to share sooner than later and his friends agree, because it could be a matter of life and death. There is never a dull moment in this book, and there is the perfect balance of drama, angst, mystery, action, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. This is the type of story that keeps you on your toes and one that will stay with you for a very long time. Brandy Hynes, thank you for this amazing story and wild ride.

🎧📚🎧 Molly Stark and Sean Masters were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting. I loved how they took each role and owned it, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. Masters nailed it as Wells, showcasing every aspect of his personality, from his possessiveness and over protectiveness to his take no prisoners alpha-tude. Stark was just as amazing as Ivy, also showcasing all traits of her personality, from her wit to her fierceness. Both were equally fabulous performing the roles of all the secondary characters, too. These two made a great team, their voices complemented each other and their performance elevated the already amazing story to another level. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.

Mind blown by authors first book

This story was captivating from the get go. The twists and turns, the characters development as story unfolds was so well done. Ivy was an amazing FMC beautiful, smart and strong. The bond of found family in this book was so beautiful. The Narrators where perfectly casted and the duet narration was a treat for the ears, especially when Sean Masters uttered the word "mine".
Can't wait from more from Brandy Hynes, what an amazing first book.

WOW!!! What a book!

Where do I even start with this one? It's every trope I love, a little dark, a mafia suspense, and passion. Can't go wrong with this one! Brandy Hynes had me riveted to my airpods and I couldn't stop, so t say the least, I didn't sleep much! Now Ivy has found out that in order to receive her trust, she must be married by the time she is 23, three months from now. Her mother has suitors lined up, but she is on a mission to find her own, and that is exactly what she does. Wells has been watching her since she was 17,and knowing the terms she has to fill was right there when he needed her, ready willing and able. And now the fun begins. twists and turns, secrets that are kept and released, danger almost impossible to get out of and four men who are willing to do anything for her. No, this is not a reverse harem, but the support she has to keep her safe is beyond amazing. Hynes has created a world that is exciting to be in, and Ivy proves to be a smart and resilient woman. She learns quick and does what she has to to survive. Wells has a passion for her that is unmatched, and even when he isn't with her, he is protecting her. This is a story that needs to be paid attention to, little crevices are filled with surprises, and just when you think you know what is going to happen, there is another turn. I loved this debut novel, and now cannot wait to move into the next one in the Kort world.

Sean Masters and Mollie Stark are the story tellers and this team is perfect for all the characters in the book. Masters plays the dark alpha with precision, has a passion that is huge and adds in the humor when it comes to the others in the group. I love his voices, each selected to match the personality of the person. Stark is the women, but mainly as Ivy, and she has an edge with this one. Not giving in an inch, ready for battle, never giving up, she is fierce, and loyal to the end. Fantastic performance and look forward to more!

would make a good movie

this was a good story with a bit of everything. secrets society, mafia-eish,family & friendships.. I enjoyed listening to it. I can see this as a movie as it was very long and the side characters got quiet a lot of time.. although I liked the guys in the group .. I would have preferred to know more about them in their own books.. Ivy was irritating at times but not too bed..Wells was brilliant . I will read follow up books only if they are a more centred on the couple of that book without much attention on side characters. I suppose since this is book 1 of a series the author was essentially introducing us readers to the characters in this world. narrators did a great job and kept me listening. new author to me and will keep an eye out for her future works.
