Summary
War is hell. It cost Gary Cross his military career, his love, and left him with a roadmap of scars that serve as a constant reminder of everything he lost. Out of that tortured past came something extraordinary—CrossBow Protection, one of the premiere bodyguard services in the US.
Michael Kennedy has been Gary Cross’s personal assistant for nearly a year. He’s come to understand why none of his predecessors lasted more than a few months. Gary Cross is snarly, prickly, and snappy, and those are his good points. But Michael is not like the others—as Gary is about to find out.
A job for the government proves hard to refuse, but it isn’t long before Gary and Michael realize that by protecting one man, they’re risking everything Gary has built—and bringing death to their front door.
But this time Gary won’t let go. Even though it could lose him what he holds most dear.
*TRIGGER WARNINGS* This book contains scenes of violence and torture. It also contains sexy bits between men.

Excellent Story & Narration🎧 Thrilling & Intense!
K.C. Wells and Parker Williams team up together for another amazing collaboration, a romantic suspense that keeps you thinking and brings you to the edge of your seat. Gary Cross, former military, has been through heII and survived, a sole surviver of a mission gone wrong. He lost a lot that tragic day, including the love of his life, Eric Bowman, and the only thing he has left are the scars inside and out, a broken heart and body. After recovering and back in the states he opened the security firm he and Eric discussed and dreamed about doing. The company has been doing well, and Gary has great people working for him and they moved into a new state-of-the-art building. The only problem he has is with keeping personal assistant. That was, until Michael Kennedy, his latest assistant, who tolerates him and gives as good as he gets. Michael sees Gary for who he is, why he is such a grump, and knows when he is having a bad day. Gary know he has a gem working for him and finally shows his appreciation, at least he attempt too. And when Gary’s past comes walking in the door, someone from his military past, someone he never wanted to see again, it is Michael who stands up to him first. Because he knew it would be something Eric would have done, he takes on an assignment that proves to be more dangerous than he first expected. There are a lot of layers to this story and the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. I loved watching the relationship between Gary and Michael morph into more. The chemistry between them was smoking hot, and I thought they were great together and for each other. This story has plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, mystery, thrilling suspense and steamy romance. K.C. Wells and Parker Williams, thank you for another amazing story and wild, emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 John Solo delivers an outstanding performance, bringing these characters to life, humanizing them, giving each a voice that is fitting and I loved how he took each role and made it his own, sounding believable and just as I imagined they would sound. He absolutely nailed it as Gary, grasping every aspect of his personality, including his grumpy demeanor and his determination. And he was just as amazing as Michael and his character voices for all the secondary characters were perfection, too. He sets the right tone for the story, captures all the characters’ emotions and has you feeling them all. John Solo is a versatile voice artist and his performance elevates this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Excellent Narration.
John Solo did an excellent in job bringing this tale to life.
It both began and ended with a bang. It was a little slow to start, but when it got into its stride, it was full-on. It was an entertaining read and it kept me reading/listening and interested all the way through. I really felt for Gary, he had the worst time, I mean, how much bad luck can one man have! However, Michael came through for him, which was kind of a relief. I loved the character of Josh, and do hope he'll get his own book.
The whole story seemed so much more real and exciting when narrated. Recommended.

Great book!!
This was a really great book and a fantastic start to the series. I loved Gary immediately and felt for him. Micheal was such a wonderful match for him. I loved how he took care of Gary and how honest he was with him. I also really admired Gary's strength.
The suspense storyline was very interesting and I enjoyed it very much. There were some very unexpected moments in the book and I love been surprised.
The narrator was absolutely brilliant. I loved the quality of the audiobook. And he voiced the characters beautifully. Really brought them to life. I had a fantastic time reading this book.

Incredible Story! Marvelous Performance by Solo
Anything by the writing combo of K.C. Wells and Parker Williams is an auto-read for me, and Broken Warrior has everything I hoped for from this team! The first book in a new series, there had better be many more to come.
Gary is such an interesting character. A true wounded warrior, he's plagued by horrible memories of his time in service. Not only did he witness horrific events, but he lost his lover to an act of terrorism. Gary’s healing is ongoing, and I’m sure the authors have lots more planned for this deeply complex guy.
Michael has hidden depths as well. When we first meet him, he seems a bit prim and stern. But as his relationship with Gary progresses, and as the mystery is unveiled, hold onto your hats, because Michael rises to the challenges time and time again.
I don’t want to give too much away because Broken Warrior has a really clever mystery, and kept me on the edge of my seat! Plan to lose some sleep hours over this one.
The audio version is beautifully performed by the marvelous John Solo.

Interesting start
Interesting start to a new series.
This is good, but it felt like the story took turns a couple of times and changed focus. Not from the MCs and not bad, just a bit unexpected.
John delivers as usual!

My honest review
I won this in the book competition by the author and i’ve had so much fun with it I’m not really into anything outside of paranormal but this book is absolutely wholesome and full of life. The characters work well together the audible book is absolutely perfect. I highly recommend this.

Heart pounding romantic suspense!
I loved this when I read with my eyes and I loved it all over again while listening to John Solo’s excellent audio performance. The story is compelling and even though I pretty much remembered what was going to happen, I still found myself holding my breath at times. There’s a pretty gruesome torture scene but it wasn’t gratuitous and was necessary for the plot. By the end I was glad I had tissues handy.
