Summary

I fell for Connor Drake. I didn't want to; I fought against it, but I fell in love with him anyway. With his words. With his poetry. With him. The gentleness and beauty of his soul that speaks directly to mine. He writes as if he can feel my heart, hear its cadence and compose the exact right lyrics to accompany every beat and flow.

I'm in love with Connor...so why do I feel an inexplicable pull to his best friend, Weston? Grouchy, sullen, brooding Weston Turner, who could cut you down with a look. Fiercely intelligent with a razor sharp wit and acid tongue, he's the exact opposite of Connor in every way, and yet there's electricity in the air between us. The thorny barbs Weston wraps around himself can't keep me away.

But the more time I spend with these men, the more tangled and confused my emotions become. When they both sign up for the Army Reserves during a time of increasing strife in the Middle East, I fear I'll never unravel my own heart that sometimes feels as if it will tear straight down the middle...for both of them.

Contains mature themes.

Heartwrenching and beautiful

I almost don't have enough words to describe how much I loved this book.

I have been listening such mediocre things recently and wow did this knock me off my feet! I almost cried multiple times because I felt so deeply for the boy who grew up to be a broken haunted but beautiful man not believing he deserves love or to love.
Unrequited love always hurts but wow, this book really hits you when you are down with its beautiful writing, the poems he writes and those secret inner thoughts how he would love if he could.

And I went in blindly not knowing there is a second book, but that cliffhanger cured me of that notion. My heart hurts so good and I'm here for all the pain and can't wait to read the next book which no doubt will come with many challenges!

Loved it

Fantastic story and really great job from the narrators. I liked the way how the story was told from two different persons.

Beautifully read and written! Loved this.

Found myself doing the dishes listening to this, water went stone cold and no dishes done. Absolutely lost time away with this book. It’s like Apple pie with custard, great book paired with a lovely narration- together amazing!

it's so so

well the story is alright, quite predictable but the woman narrator's winy voice is getting on my nerves! Seriously I was able to enjoy only the parts with men narrations.

It's really enjoyable, listening.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the characters, and it's great having more than one narrator to listen to.
