Summary
There is no calm after the storm. But there is perseverance, ingenuity, and a whole lot of courage.
Leo's life has been dismantled. Now with his father missing, he must rely on himself more than ever, but he's still young. His older brother does what he can to help, but soon even Andar will rely on Leo to free them from this nightmare. The king's army is taking over the city, against the wishes of every citizen, but there's something special about Leo that might change everything.
Leo must grow up quickly to achieve his potential, but at a cost. He must join the very people who could destroy everything he cares about.

Great 2nd story of a series of three
Like the first book in the series a nice easy to follow tale with familiar characters that it is easy to invest in. Well told and enjoyable.

Good story but short
As with the other books in this series its good storytelling but feels like books 1 and 2 could have been in one volume

Really enjoying the series
Thank you audible for giving the first 3 or 4 books free as they are only 10 hours. So easy to listen and get lost in. I will definitely use a credit for the last book. I love the fact that you get a story of magic and various relationships and common cause without (so far anyway) A dark Lord, constant battles which in the end become tedious 🥱. I’m enjoying this without feeling exhausted or bored after yet ANOTHER final battle .
