Outstanding history of colonized Latin America

The author is comprehensive but brief, coherent and frank, broadly educated and empathetic. I recommend this book to anyone on an intermediate level of Latin American history. The narrator is very clear and does not get in the way of the text whatsoever.

Super interesting!

Truly concise! there's so much to cover and yet is done extremely well, It's a good overall view, that puts individual countries in the context of time. Great listen before you start delving into each or any of the south American countries' history.

Brilliant primer on the continent's history

Enjoyable overview and a great starting point for further investigation in whatever interests you. I love that it highlights some of the more remarkable but less well-known characters from Latin American history, and in particular the amazing women who have been so regretfully overlooked. Narrator is engaging, with a warm and occasionally humourously sardonic tone that keeps your interest.
