About this listen

The book of the dead is the morgue log in which all cases are entered. For Kay Scarpetta, however, it is about to have a new meaning. She moves to South Carolina in the hope of a quieter life, but then a series of violent murders begins.

Book of the dead

I love Patricia Cornwell books however I found this was not one of her best. The story see'med rushed at the end in comparison to most of her other publications.
Narration was good.

as always another great novel in the scarpetta

not boring and as always the narrator is exceptional one if not the most favourite narrator. am disabled and suffer from dyslexia but i thirst for knowledge and entertainment that only a book can provide but i found reading long books for me isnt so easy i forget by time i get to end page purely out of frustration for my conditions so having my favourite author read to me by a top class narrator makes my reading misfortunes a thing of the past. not only for people like myself but if you got alot to do but still cant put your book down then why not have it read to you while you catch up with chores or if you just want to relax and have it read to you while you rest those busy eyes you dont have to miss out any more when it comes to the world of literature no matter what it is you like crime fiction non-fiction theres a book for everyone. but this book is defo one for the personal library favs. i wont go into the book as i dont like spoling it for others but if your a scarpetta fan and not read or heard this one then you must try it.

Told in 3rd person...

The previous Patricia Cornwell books I have purchased on Audible were all told in 1st person - from Kay's perspective.

I only got to the 2nd chapter of Book of the Dead when I couldn't stand the "he says", "she says" over & over again.

Normally love these but not this one.

I found it very boring. Too much angst and not enough about the murders or murderer. Unusually for me I couldn't finish it.
