About this listen
At 33, Coy Davidson is a beautiful blonde with a southern accent and a successful practice as a physician assistant. She has a comfortable home, good friends, and a loving family. She’s also a widow, carrying a burden of responsibility for her wife’s untimely death. She lost her footing that day, gave up her dream to become a doctor, and swore off of relationships. Now, three years later, she’s ready to turn her life on end to regain what she’s lost.
At 29, Coby O’Brien is a woman with secrets. She’s estranged from her family, a recovering alcoholic who feels like she’s unlovable. When she loses her job as a heavy equipment operator, she’ll accept one in Antarctica that will cause her path to cross with Coy’s, forcing her to step outside her comfort zone. Having caught next to no breaks in life, it could turn out to be her break of a lifetime - if only she can find the courage to do what she’s been afraid to do since she was a girl.
Set against the backdrop of twinkling Christmas lights, Coy and Coby must tap into courage before they can seize their chance at love.

Love knows no boundaries
What I especially liked about this audiobook was the voice of the narrator who spoke the many voices so wonderfully and who performed different dialects and accents perfectly. The uncertainty and shyness of the sweet Coby Lee can be heard particularly well in the voice. The story is romantic, with a few agonizing moments and a few hurdles that the two MC‘s have to overcome. A very pleasant and cute audio book!

Cringe worthy
A good enough story but lousy execution.
The narration was nothing less than irritating - I so wish narrators wouldn't try accents. in this one, Diego the Mexican was more Diego the Russian.
Coy is appalling - passive aggressive and manipulative. Oh, poor ol', little ol', whimpering me.
Colby is more likeable. But I can't decide if the author or the narrator failed to deliver the flawed but fighting Butch an authentic voice. We are told she is butch but, until she carries some shopping, we see no evidence of it.
The time on Antarctica is brief and, bluntly, we could have been anywhere for all the felt sense the reader gets of this fascinating and amazing place.
So, No. Not recommended.
