Summary

When I met Malik my life changed in the blink of an eye. We were set up - Chris and Simon called it a blind date - and I suppose they could see that I was lonely, that I needed someone in my life to make it more exciting. And they were right.

He was so good to me. He seemed to know exactly what I needed to feel safe and loved again. We’d talk and laugh into the night, and I haven’t had someone on my side since my divorce. But soon the honeymoon period was over.

It started with my car’s tyre being slashed and strange calls at the radio station where I work. Then there was the morning I stayed at Malik’s and found myself locked in his flat....

Waking up next to him, I asked myself: is this charming, handsome man someone I should feel scared of?

When a woman’s attacked outside my work the police want to question Malik. Everyone says I shouldn’t trust him.

But I have dark secrets of my own, things I’ve revealed to him in the middle of the night, and it might already be too late to keep myself safe....

Thrilling and gripping, Blind Date is a dark and unsettling story about deception and how much we can trust the people we love. For fans of Gone Girl, The Girl on the Train, and anything by Lisa Jewell.

readable but had some flaws

I found the main character very naive which annoyed me a little but it had an interesting twist. I also thought some of the characters could have done with a bit more back story

Horrifying Narration

The horror of this story is the flabbergasting naivety of the narrator. I didn't route for her at all, I found nothing she did made sense

Wonderful to have another story from the author.

Once again another enjoyable twist turn of a story. Many a compelling character to meet.

Boring and Convoluted Storylines

I found this read less than captivating, especially the scores of red herrings that lent nothing to the intended drama or suspense.

The narration was listenable but a little flat.

Boring so far

I am chapter 30 and the book is boring and hasn't really gone anywhere yet, don't think I will bother with the rest! The main character isn't likeable and is getting on my last nerve! might get better but I'm not sure i can put myself through the bore!

Update....gave it another go as I had nothing else and still nothing, still boring and still going nowhere!

waste of a credit

Really quite terrible, shouldn't have finished it

Both the narrator and story were pretty dreadful. The narrator kept trying to add suspense to a a story that really didn't have any. Have no idea how this is in the thriller category when nothing remotely thrilling happened.

Very poor story line, written in an immature and unrealistic way. Only finished as I had a 6 hour car journey with nothing else downloaded.

I hate writing a bad review as appreciate how much work must have gone into this, but really can't recommend.
