Spoilt by the Narrator
It took me a long while to get past the narrator of this book. I had re-listened to ‘Age of Ash’ just prior to starting this and went straight into Blade of Dream. It sounded like it was being narrated by Siri or some other text to speech engine. I really didn’t like the female voices and although I appreciate it is Gareth’s story, there is a lot of Elaine as well so Soneela Nankani would have been just as valid a choice for narration.
As to the story, I enjoyed the intrigue and seeing the same events for different points of view, filling out the story from book 1. It is fast paced and I was glad I persevered to the end. I look forward to the final part of the trilogy, hoping it reverts to Soneela Nankani as narrator.

Immersive narrative
Great nuanced characters and immersive worldbuilding. Daniel Abraham does an amazing job yet again. The only downside was the narrator who had a very nasal voice.

Performance is so bad that I cannot finish
I usually don’t take too much note of the reader unless they are very good. For I am of the general opinion that if the story is good it usually carrie itself.
This is an exception though as the readers here is so bad that I stopped listening at chapter 2.
This says a lot as the author is one of my all time favs, and I preordered this audiobook as soon as it was announced.
I would love it if there was a re-release of this read by Soneela Nankani (or anyone else for that matter)
For now I will by it in text format.
(Because Really, it is like listening to a 10 year old reciting gospel in school)
