Summary
The complete soundtracks of all four Blackadder series, plus over three hours of specials and extras.
Through the ages of Britain, from the 15th century to the 21st, Edmund Blackadder has meddled his way along the bloodlines, aided by his servant and sidekick, Baldrick, and hindered by an assortment of dimwitted aristocrats. Now the complete history of Blackadder is collected together, including the four TV series: The Black Adder, Blackadder II, Blackadder the Third and Blackadder Goes Forth plus the special TV and radio episodes Blackadder’s Christmas Carol, Blackadder: The Cavalier Years, Blackadder: Woman’s Hour Invasion, The Shakespeare Sketch, Blackadder: Back and Forth, Blackadder: The Army Years (Royal Variety Performance) and Blackadder: I Have a Cunning Plan. Even included is the Blackadder instalment of the TV series Britain's Best Sitcom.
Starring Rowan Atkinson, Tony Robinson, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, Tim McInnerny, Rik Mayall and Miranda Richardson. Written by Richard Curtis, Ben Elton and Rowan Atkinson. This is history at its grubbiest and funniest.

So funny
I read a review here that said this was not suitable for an audiobook and that you would need to see visuals to understand what is happening every now and then. I do not agree with that, those "scenes" were few and far between and I could perfectly understand what was happening from the context. I really enjoyed this, and laughed out quite a few times. Rowan Atkinson really is a master of humour, and the only downside to this is that there is no more material to purchase.

Rowan Atkinson's greatest creation
Rowan Atkinson at his best such a fantastic comedy. Well written with some great actors (Tony Robinson as Baldrick, Hugh Laurie as Prince George, Stephen Fry as General Melchett to name but a few). Fantastically written well acted comedy.

Fantastic hearing this again
Great to hear this again, despite other comments, this version puts the original series in my mind, like I’m watching it again.

Absolute comedy gold
One of the best series of all time! Brilliantly written and performed - only the odd joke which you can't get with just audio (as opposed to watching it), but makes you appreciate the writing even more.

The only flaw is the absence of the visual jokes
Under the assumption that most people have seen the original series, it's a joy to hear the masters at work. The writing, acting and sophistication more than make up for the visual gags not hitting the mark - for obvious reasons. For newbies, it may prove more of a problem which is why this doesn't get 100% from me.

A comedy classic. Highly recommended.
All four series plus one-off episodes together with documentaries and appreciation about the classic BBC historical comedy. For those on the go or without the benefit of the TV shows I have a cunning plan. Keep these with you for some first-rate entertainment.

Amazing classic
It’s a classic show the thing about not being able to see the actors you picture it in your head and you just try and picture it’s just a test of imagination
