About this listen

A sweeping adventure of the Forgotten Realms to mark the 50th anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons, written by New York Times best-selling author R.A. Salvatore.

When Drizzt Do’Urden first entered Icewind Dale in 1347, he found a place quite unlike anywhere he had ever known, a land of freezing winds and ferocious monsters, of dramatic vistas and unrelenting challenges. Most of all, though, he found a land populated by folk who knew all too well the price of a misstep, whether walking into a yeti den or trusting a stranger.

Making his way in those early days was no easy task, but Drizzt would find focus and joy in watching the antics of a girl and a bunch of dwarfs trying to keep her from getting herself killed. A girl who would become his friend, who would become a woman, who would become his wife.

When Breezy Do’Urden, the daughter of that marriage, enters Icewind Dale more than 150 years later, she finds a land no more tamed. And while her father’s reputation has mostly smoothed the way for her among the ever-suspicious people, she carries her own concerns, confusion, and a trauma realized in the difficult journey through the Spine of the Word Mountain.

She also carries the blood on her hands.

Good

I thought this was a good little adventure story, it was very short, just gives a small taste of the long running series.

The story continues

Like so many others, I think, reading these stories of Drizzt by R A Salvatore feel like coming home. Being able to read yet another one about Drizzt and Catie Brie and now their daughter, Breezy, was just a continuation of that feeling, one much welcomed and appreciated.

Brilliant addition to cannon

Gave me some great ideas for encounters in my dnd campaign, loved how they showed so much character development with the telling.

Breezy is great

Two stories in one. always fun to have drizzt hunting in the Dale tundra. but the real gem is breezy first dale adventure. I've been looking forward to her story since it was announced we'd see more of her. love that she's a shadow monk and she feels real and complex. i enjoyed her different relationships to long running characters. fav moments Uncle Jax words of wisdom easing past her teenage sarcasm and her battle in the caves through shock she was almost assassinated. I hope we see more breezy adventures

Noice

Sweet and short (way too short in my honest opinion), but very enjoyable and easy to listen to.

A short SPECIAL..not for first timers

If like me, neither a newbie or game/computer player I suggest read the reviews and note comments as advice. This was in plus catalogue so no cost but as true followers/reviewers refer to history of characters; that this is a 'short book' and 'tips' on role play. I would suggest read previous books first as would give introduction to characters.

The reviwers love this short book, so I understand/appreciate that THIS SPECIAL is not aimed at an uninitiated D&D, such as myself. ,THE WRITING AND VOICEs PERFORMANCE are 'GOOD...but I felt i came into the middle of a ongoing scenario/fight scene. So I am going to see if any previous books on audio and then comeback
