Summary

The first of CSA Word's popular women's short story collections.

This selection of stories relates the many experiences and complexities of womanhood; sometimes joyful, sometimes sad but always enriching. With stories by Edith Wharton, Katherine Mansfield and Elizabeth Gaskell - it includes 'Ladies in Lavender' by William J. Locke, the inspiration for the film of the same name starring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith.

Narrated by Harriet Walter, a popular British actress whose movie and TV credits include Atonement, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Netflix’s The Crown.

Great stories- pity about the layout

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This would have been a pleasure to listen to except that there are no chapters inserted so it is therefore impossible to listen to any individual story. They run from one to the next without a break.Harriet Walter is a good reader but by the end I was totally confused about which story was which.
