Great read.
Despite having not read the the Bee's Flowers series by Corlet, this was a fantastic introduction to the characters from that series, and a great taster of what to expect from reading more of Corlet's work in the future. Her writing style is effortless, quickly transporting you into Stacia and Marco's world and keeping you hooked, desperate to discover where their story is heading.
Not only was this the first book I have experienced by Corlet, this was also the first time I had listened to a book on audible. I was always a little reluctant to listen to a book rather than read it because I was worried I wouldn't follow the story as closely or become as absorbed as you do when reading, but I was definitely wrong. Theresa Bakken's narration was perfect for this audiobook; her sweet, soft tone was beautiful and made you want to keep listening, and along with Corlet's descriptive style I was completely lost within the story.
I would definitely recommend this book, and if the rest of the series is written is the same beautiful way (which I have no doubt it would be), then I would recommend Corlet as an author to keep an eye on for the future.
