On the eve of her wedding to the heir of Saiturn Manor, the stunningly beautiful Gytha is shocked to learn that her betrothed, a man she barely knew, is dead. Now she must marry the new heir, Thayer Saiturn, a battle-hardened knight known as the Red Devil....
With a face scarred in battle and a heart broken in love, Thayer has no interest in marriage. But not even the Red Devil can break the promise his foster-father made years ago and soon finds himself married to a woman whose exquisite beauty and sweet innocence intrigue him. Well written & well read
Definitely worth the listen. It’s well written and I liked the narrator very much. The characters were appealing & it feels like there are more stories to come!

Predictable and tedious
Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy Hannah Howell’s Beauty and the Beast. I assume the author was aiming for a strong but sweet main female lead but more often than not she came off as a beautiful, privileged, immature girl who throws a bit of a strop whenever she doesn’t get her own way. The male lead was almost as irritating and showed very little character development throughout the story. The secondary characters had no depth at all. I also found it irritating how inconsistent the characters/plot were- one moment a character would show complete ignorance on a subject and then a chapter or two later they would make a statement about that same topic as if they were some kind of expert. Or the fact the male lead and his companions had a reputation for being amazing fighters but were ambushed/caught off guard time after time after time. The plot was extremely predictable and very forgettable (I only listened to the story a week or so ago and I’m already struggling to recall what happened. Memorable it was not). The narration was okay.
