About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
Listen to this explosive insight into the previously unseen world of football club ownership by one of the game's most recognisable figures.
Multimillionaire at 32.
Youngest Premier League football club owner at 36.
His club and a fortune lost at 42.
Owning your childhood club—that's the dream, isn't it?
Simon Jordan made his fortune building a mobile phone company from scratch. When he sold it for £75 million, he bought Crystal Palace FC, the club he'd supported as a boy, and led them into the Premier League.
Ten years later, Palace was in administration and Jordan had lost nigh on everything. Be Careful What You Wish For lifts the lid on being the owner of a football club and how the game really works. Hopes and dreams sit alongside greed, self-interest, dodgy transfers, boardroom fights and dressing room dressing downs. Throughout no one is spared, least of all Jordan himself.
A finalist for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year.
Shortlisted for the British Sports Book Publishing Award for best autobiography.

For winners and dreamers
Throw away your heuristic bias and give this a read …..you won’t be disappointed, it’s a compelling story narrated by a man with a passion for achievement.
I was captivated throughout and listening to this has reversed any negative perceptions I had incorrectly formed of Simon listening to media over the last few decades.

Great story well told
This has to be one of the best books I have listened to in the last few years.
It's always better when the its read by the actual person who's story it is.
Great insight into Simon Jordan's life from nothing to a multi millionaire and
how getting involved with a football club can loose you all that wealth.
Simon pulls no punches in this book and tells it as it is.

Can’t stop listening! Interesting, funny and insightful!
I’m a huge fan of his on TalkSPORT and if you find him Interesting from there, this is for you. Starts off with his life, him as a business man and shows the great foundation he would have for life at Palace. He’s very honest, doesn’t hold back and has a great dry wit. I’ll listen again soon enough. Shame it’s gone now.

A captivating and insightful look into the ownership of a football club.
I have a lot of time for Simon Jordan and find the analysis he offers on Talksport interesting and unique. With that fondness in mind, this book did not let me down.

Extremely good insight into very murky world
Thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Loved listening to every aspect of the murky world that is football. Being a big football fan unfortunately not a Crystal Palace fan, I did enjoy listening to Simon Jordan and his take on this extremely cutthroat world. He himself has me as a new fan. I have listened to him through the media and do support his outspoken mostly true or thought provoking take on sport and life. Awesome work would definitely recommend this Audible book.
