About this listen

Baghdad at Night is a first-person narrative seen through the eyes of an Airborne Infantry scout during 'The Surge' of 07-08 in central Baghdad. This book encompasses all facets of life in the modern Middle Eastern warzone. This story gives the listener an intimate view of the soldier's life, from the barracks to the battlefield.

Baghdad at Night focuses on squad dynamics, interpersonal relationships, and the true nature of combat and fear as they are experienced behind the buttstock of a rifle.

Interesting.

Having no experience of warfare etc I found this an interesting insight in to what it must be like to be a soldier on the ground in a war zone. With the length of the book I found it necessary to dip in and out of the book over a few weeks, I don't really like long books and this one did not grip me in a way that I needed to know what happened next. The book is well written and very well narrated and was interesting enough however to make sure I wanted to listen to the very end. Recommended for those who like war stories.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the author and leave this honest review.

an outstanding read!

normally I don't read us military books but thought I'd give this one a try

I thought this would be all brass and no brains but was totally taken by surprise.

dallas has done an incredible job of putting his experience onto paper and in a way that's easy to follow for those not in the military mindset. hes broken his tour down into detail and explained the highs and lows of military life on tour. the boredom, the excitement, incompetent section leaders and alot more.

a worthwhile read for anyone looking for a first hand account of the war on terror
