Summary

A Zograt and Skrog Novel

Zograt was once a puny runt of a grot, but thanks to his brilliant cunning, the blessing of the Bad Moon, and a loyal troggoth, he's now ready to prove himself the greatest Loonboss ever.

Listen to it because

Follow a rags-to-riches story of a weak and weaselly git who now aspires to be seen as the best Loonboss in all the Mortal Realms! Of course, not everyone's going to let him have things his own way...

The story

Born the weakest runt of his Moonclan tribe, Zograt was only ever one beating away from a nasty end...until the Bad Moon bestowed upon him its blessing. Now the Clammy Hand of destiny is upon him and back-stabbing grots scurry to his cause, afraid of the vengeances their new boss will inflict with his powerful spells.

For every underling he suffocates with noxious fungi, Zograt stages a magnanimous gesture, for he is all too aware of his fragile grip on power. Yet in his heart boils an obsession – to become the most formidable, most respected, most fearsome Loonboss there ever was.

Where better to proclaim his new-found majesty than the gloom-shrouded mountain of Muttering Peak? To lay claim to his throne, Zograt must first evade a sinister coven of wizards that wishes to harness the mountain's power for their own dark designs – but with his razor-sharp mind, unpredictable magic, and the loyal troggoth Skrog at his side, Zograt's ambitions may not be so daft, after all...

Best book for the gitz!

No seriously, its a gripping, brillently narrated tale with amazing voice acting and a damn good story. I would recommend for any gits enjoyer or even fantasy enjoyer as it truely reminds me of ol' skarsnik tales! 10/10

Skrog is the best character in all of warhammer!

I do not normally leave reviews, in fact this is my first on the platform.
The reason being that I absolutely adore this book, having both read and listened to it I can whole heartedly recommend this to any and everyone.

It could be argued that there is a little too much of the human characters but I see it as beneficial grounding and helps provide different perspectives which at times can be quite funny.

All in all the vocal performance is absolutely amazing, the story is great and my beloved Skrog is the best.

Just so good

Maybe it’s just me but why does every ork / greenskin book just slap?!

Great underdog story, loved characters and dark humour and the humeez fall from grace. Truly an enjoyable read.

Listing to gitz be gitz is brilliant. Best AoS book!

Harry Myers is superb, my favourite voice performance of all Black Library audiobooks I’ve heard, and the story (at least the gitz side) is dark, silly (but not stupid), and made me smile often.
The human element of the story is was nowhere near as engaging for me, but acted as a useful counterbalance to the gitz brilliance.

Is gud fun

A fun story about grots, that really dives into the grot mindset. I don't much care about them, but this book sure got me more interested in the faction. The only reason I started to listen to this, was to see if any beasts of chaos appear, but sadly it was boring humies going against the shroom backstabbas. Still, the story was great and the performance even greater and I found a new reader who I will love to hear more in the future.

Zograt da Cockney

Nice story and very well performed, loved the voices for the Gitz.

I found the non-gitz bits of the story a pretty good contrast to the gitz bits.

Hope for more!

Zoggin' good!

Da Bad Moon is definitely smiling down upon this book! Really breathes some life into the Gloomspite Gitz.
