Summary

When Arlette Blaise sees a German plane fly over the family farm in 1940, she’s comforted by the fact that the occupying forces are far away in the north of the country. Surely the war will not reach her family in the idyllic French countryside near to the small town of Oradour-sur-Glane? A very moving story

I enjoyed this book very much. I know there are many books written about WWII in France but this one was excellent. Having visited Oradour-sur-Glane that section of the book I found particularly moving. The hardships and privations that they suffered was humbling.

loved this book.could not stop listening.it was read brilliantly

The audio was ok The story just seemed to a series of events that I've read in other books so it lacked authenticity
