Director
Beloved by audiences worldwide for her ACTRA/Gemini Award-winning starring role in the original Anne of Green Gables TV movies, Megan Follows has had a stunning and varied career in television, film, and theatre.
Megan began directing on The CW’s Reign, where her episodes were lauded as ''gorgeous, visual, and emotional.'' Other episodic directing includes The Republic of Sarah, Charmed, When Hope Calls, and Holly Hobbie.
Always a fan of the theatre, Megan has directed The Carousel, a play by Jennifer Tremblay, at the Nightwood Theatre, as well as Margaret Atwood’s The Penelopiad at London, Ontario’s Grand Theatre, which the London Free Press declared ''the best kind of theatre, engaging the audience at many levels.''
Writer
Abi Hynes is an award-winning drama and fiction writer based in Manchester, UK. She wrote several episodes of the historical audio drama Dark Harbour for Audible, and is currently developing original dramas for TV.
As a playwright, her work has been staged in theatres across the UK, and she works regularly with LGBT History Month, bringing forgotten queer stories to life on stage. She won the Cambridge Short Story Prize in 2020, and her first short story collection, Monstrous Longing, was published by Dahlia Books in 2023. Abi’s mum read the Anne of Green Gables books to her as a child, and she later learned that her copy had been passed down from her grandmother, who—when she was evacuated to the countryside during World War II—would cycle several miles every day to the nearest bookshop to read the next chapter.
Composer
Composer Emily Doolittle grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and now lives in Glasgow, UK, where she is a research fellow and lecturer in composition at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Emily has composed for a wide range of acoustic ensembles, including Symphony Nova Scotia, the English Symphony Orchestra, the Vancouver Symphony, Ensemble La Cigale, Luminos Vocal Ensemble, and Architek Percussion.
She also enjoys writing experimental works for such diverse sound-makers as items from the recycling bin, salad bowls, and howling dogs. Her work has been recognized with support from the Canada Council for the Arts, Creative Scotland, the Fulbright Foundation, ASCAP, and others. Emily has an ongoing interest in the relationship between animal songs and human music, which she explores through her compositions and in collaborative research with biologists. Loved this! Beautiful production.
This was one of my late sister’s favourite books, but I’d never read it. This was a really special experience for me. I can see why she loved it so much. Anne is a wonderful character. The production is superb with an outstanding cast. This is an absolute treat.

A lovely story
I read Anne of Green Gables many years as a child, and remembered how much I had enjoyed it. It quite came up to expectations, was so well acted, and has been a good distraction from the world’s problems and the busy run up to Christmas!

The atmosphere of the period well told in this rendition of Anne of Green Gables
Sandra Oh fabulous, good story telling. Easy to imagine (pardon the pun), being there with them all. Glad that the feud between Anne and her long time rival was finally over - did Anne get her beau in the end?

Beautifully paced
All the right elements, wonderful dramatisation and non sentimental, (if that was possible from such a lovely story!)
