Summary

Many tragic and many glorious events took place in the period from the late 1800’s to the 1970’s. Wars were fought, lives were created and lost, and fortunes were made and lost. Some by the natural hand of fate and others by the schemes of bad people who cared little about the suffering they caused.

But it was love that would eventually bring the lost back into the fold, erase the unearned sins of the innocent, and ultimately triumph over tragedy and loss.

This historical tale, taking place in and around Aurora, Texas, portrays persons only partly imagined. It is about hard times, forbidden romance, and the unstoppable movement of hands on the clock. It is a story of being found after being lost, of crying out in the night then receiving unanticipated, unimagined comfort. It is also about the weak rising up to exact deadly revenge on evil people. Above all, it is a story about the transcendence of love persisting through chaotic fate and the incoherent, intolerant rules of society.
