Different, refreshing, exciting and enjoyable.
I really enjoyed this book and would go as far as to say it is the best book I’ve read (well listened to - I got my copy from Audible!) in absolutely ages. The story revolves around a plucky teenager who lives in a world where the angels have come down to Earth and are waging war on us mortals. Penryn rescues an angel and persuades him to help her rescue her sister from the angel base.
The story has a strong female lead, strong female characters and deals sensitively with issues like schizophrenia. The characters are very believable and I found myself looking forward to the next instalment of the story as I was keen to see what happens next – it really is that gripping. As the story progresses you find out little snippets of information about the angels and how they live, which helps keeps you engrossed.
The only negative thing I could find to say about this book is that the next part in the story won’t be released until November. How am I meant to wait that long to find out what happens next?

Not as good as expected
I bought this book on the reviews and I am not that impressed. Good idea but I would not get any others. Not bad enough to send back.
The narrator is very good and does well with a so, so book. If I had to read it I would not have got through the first 100 pages.

Can't wait for the next instalment
Would you listen to Angelfall again? Why?
Brilliant story with good narrator. The book is available in the US....just need it to come over here. Exciting and mature fiction for the older teenager.
What does Caitlin Davies bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Great neutral narration with good voices
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The point where Raphael has had bat wings sewn onto him....functional but tragic

Not what I expected
I was very pleasantly surprised by this book, it wasn’t as I’d expected at all. Penryn was a loveable protagonist to the story, with a will to save her sister at any cost.
Perfect story for anyone who enjoyed books by Cassandra Clare or Becca Fitzpatrick.
Narrator was good and had no issue with captivating my attention with the way she told the story.

Great start, brilliant narrator, then disapointing
Probably one of the books I'm most disappointed in. The audiobook is young adult with an unusual mix of hints of romance with horror in this post apocalyptic survival story. Caitlin Davies is easily a 4 star narrator, I was hooked from the start and the book has mostly great reviews. In summary Penryn is trying to protect her mentally unstable mother and wheelchair bound sister after the angel apocalypse. Fleeing the city at night to avoid the incursion of the gangs they fall foul of a group of angels fighting among each other. As a last resort Penryn helps save the one being attacked as a distraction to let her mother and sister escape but her sister is captured anyway. Now Penryn must find a way to save her sister with only a wingless enemy who isn't living up to her perception of an angel and her mother who, gradually spiraling off her meds, maybe more dangerous than anything else out there. I was completely griped by this book for the story for the first three or four hours, it's tense, romantic and intriguing by turns, then it's like the author hit deadline half way through the book and the quality drops dramatically. The main twist (and several smaller ones) which should have had great dramatic impact near the end, is virtually screamed at you from about half way through the book. Raphie, the Angel, who given his supposed years and knowledge of human culture, should be intelligent enough to explain and reason with Penryn, gives manly orders but stumbles around with about as much talent and tact as Ron Weasley in Harry Potter. I'd give the story 3 stars but only because the start was so good. Honestly I'd probably give this one a miss unless you're reading it for the light romance.
