Summary
With more than 10 million copies of her books in print, New York Times best-selling author Jane Feather is one of the biggest names in historical romance. The third novel in the Blackwater Brides trilogy finds comely Alexandra Douglas in London, reeling from news of her father’s death - and of her disinheritance. Posing as a librarian, Alex infiltrates her former home, where love awaits in the form of her stepbrother’s friend, the Honourable Peregrine Sullivan.

Great series
Stories were interesting and characters engaging. Last book finished without saying what happened to the book, the ring or the fob, which I thought was a pity - a bit of comeuppance for the nasty relatives was definitely in order and now we’ll never know! A bit of an epilogue would have rounded it all out nicely. The narration was generally excellent, with the exception of a few specific words. ‘Grimace’ is clearly a word the author likes, so it was murdered regularly, with ‘liked’ and ‘idyll’ also making wincing appearances. On the whole, these didn’t spoil the listening experience.
