Summary

My alpha ordered me to keep away from humans.

My wolf is highly unstable. Nearly feral. I can’t be trusted around civilians.

Certainly not with the lovely kindergarten teacher whose scent drives me wild.

But she needs a fake boyfriend for a weekend wedding trip. A big guy to intimidate her ex.

How can I refuse?

I won’t be directly disobeying an order, because it won’t be a real date.

It will be a nice clean mission. We’ll have separate rooms.

I’ll keep my wolf on a tight leash.

And no matter how much I want to, I will not mark and claim the sweet human as mine...

Great narrator. Great story. Did not regret and would definitely recommend. Didn’t put it down.

Loved the amazing narration of Benjamin Sands, who brings the humour, angst, action and characters to your ears.

Sadie is a kindergarten teacher and allows people to walk over her. After she breaks up with her cheating boyfriend of two years. Making her feel relieved. Only really dating him to make her dad happy.
Deke is part of a special forces shifters group who is struggling with PTSD. Who struggles with being around people i.e humans. When these two meet, Deke feels his wolf calmer and Sadie becomes stronger. Asking him to pretend to be her boyfriend and then to attend a weekend wedding. One that her horrible ex will be at. Soon fake feels real. How will Sadie act when she sees the real Deke.
This book has suspense, humour, and oh yes steam.

Only half way through - may edit if I finish.

what is with the numerous inner dialogue. Like seriously, make a point already. I find this book to be extremely frustrating because in her head, she can say all this stuff but never says it out loud when it matters. Usually, this doesn't bother me. It's story progression, but in this case, I wanted to shake the female lead so badly for knowing what she wants but not saying anything. I have just stopped after her dinner with her father and will review this review once finished. At least the story is fast-paced.
