Gyles Rawlings, the Earl of Chillingsworth, is a man determined to stay in control of his destiny. Even as he vows to wed a dutiful, blue-blooded lady for the purpose of fostering progeny, he deviously plans to fulfill his most sinful pleasures with a brazen strumpet. But standing at the altar on that fateful day, he unexpectedly finds himself falling in love with his beautiful bride-to-be.

Could be shorter

This story was in many ways the most interesting in the series as it has great structure and the depiction of the lives of 17th century high society is spellbinding.
However, the prolonged descriptions of pure pornographic scenes and the narrator’s tendency to recount them like he was relaying football matches let the book down and unnecessarily prolonged it.
Cut out half the intimate scenes and the book would be perfect. Got tired of fast forwarding them.

All about sex

If you are Voyeuristic, then this is they book for you, except you are listening, with no imagination left. I personally don't enjoy, this type of book especially as I feel that if there was ten pages of plot I would be surprised. As I started to fast forward, with words not again, I realised how bored I had become. The diluted story line is he meets two cousins one he decides to wed In a cold blooded marriage, because he saw his father died and never wants to love again!!!! The other he lusts for and plan to make his mistresses. As the cousin have similar names, it isn't until the last minute he realises his mistake and knows she also knows the truth. It started off badly and never drags it self out of the sexual pit. Sad as I enjoyed his character in other books, not worth buying let alone the time listening to it.
